Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Tbf an In form Richie is one of the best strikers in the league! Solanke isn't at that level at all. Problem is Richie is rarely in form and has a much lower floor than Solanke.

Right now Richie is 100% ahead of Solanke bit I'd be shocked if it stayed like that for the entire season

Richy hasn't scored more than 13 goals in a single season for various reasons so I'm not sure you can call him one of the best strikers in the league.

If we add Savinho, or any additional attacker beyond the needed 10, there isn't going to be room on the bench for Tel. A player we signed THIS SUMMER for 30 million pounds.

That's a bad allocation of resources. The club operated with an assumption of how committed and excited we would be for this player based on a manager they had already sacked and apparently a technical director who might also have one foot out the door?

Right but we aren't frantically searching around for his replacement, that is a pretty loaded statement implying something that isn't true to drive your point home.... a point with very little basis other than we are looking to bring in an extremely talented player.

Your last paragraph doesn't really track for me.... why would they have that assumption when even a modest amount of research, of which they absolutely have the resources to do, would show them otherwise.

The idea the club would invest 30M on an assumption that Tel would appease the fans is really out there man.

I think this window has broken you.

Up until Richys recent short run of performances i would have said that Solanke was far superior wrt the basics of playing football and much more consistent with his performances with Richy being a bit erratic and having poor control/first touch/unable to stay on his feet - if he can maintain his current level then he will be worth a starting place I'm sure, if not that means Solanke is playing better so win=win as i don't think Frank is the type to play favourites
Look up G/A per minute from last season for Richy. He's quietly been very good when he's played. Fitness is his biggest concern. Infact, compare their G/A over their entire PL careers and Richy blows him out of the water, and spent a large majority of that time not as a 9.

I too don't think he'll start favourites thank God, but when we play Dom, we're playing a striker that a midtable side would play, out ambition is 'to win the league's apparently, he's well short of that.

Even when he has chances, you never back him to score, it was a blind panic and it won't be til next season before the club reassess the situation because of the money spent.

The in form being a very small sample size that usually lasts 5 games. Right now he's on it. We saw a similar level during the winter of Ange's first season. It never lasts long.

But look at them goals against Burnley. World class finishes. He's scored them for Brazil in world cups too. He's got a very high ceiling when he's on it. Capable of things that Solanke could never dream of doing.

Just totally unreliable!

Chavs are after Fermin Lopez, didn't think Barca would sell him tbh but they need money. I find it hard to believe that Chelsea would go for both him and Simons.

There's an opportunity there if the money is right (wages mainly as the transfer fee wouldn't be a problem for either).

I think Lopez is going to be the dog's bollocks. Simons very good too. Either player improves us.

So in summary I fully expect neither to join us.

Something seems off with Simons. Strange that only Chelsea were after him and now they are going cold on him. He must have a bad attitude or something. Amazed he doesn't have a list of clubs looking at him.

Again, stop avoiding the question. What is he so good at that I, a mere mortal can't see, that you in your divine knowledge can?

Stats back up the theory that he's absolutely average or below average at basically everything.

Bergvall cost €15m, and you could see there was quality there right away. He made mistakes, as kids do, but some of the stuff he did, you thought "there's a player in there". Tel, has shown absolutely nothing.

I don't have a players name as my username, oh wise one. I think you'll find that mine spells 'Papa' we have a player called 'Pape'.

Giving him a chance is detriment to team performance. He's not cut out for this level as of now, I doubt ever, so he needs to show what he can do somewhere else in the short term.

Lange has likely been fired, and from crying on the phone to get him to come, to stumping up crazy money to get him, has very likely coincided with this.

There's being a supporter and there's being a happy clapper who can't think objectively. You are the latter.

Here we go with the happy clapper nonsense

Id rather, all day, every day, be a happy clapper than a miserable bastard who can't wait to shit all over a 21-year-old getting up to speed playing in the toughest league in the world

It's not about what I have seen in him.

I listen to people like you write off player after player thinking you know what ability a footballer has after watching them play a handful of times.

Anyone watching any of our players in the second half of last season wouldn't rate a single one.

You feel you have seen enough, more power to you. I haven't and I guess time will tell who is right...

So we know that the club are scrambling right now, not even Levy is obtuse enough to not want to get something over the line with regards to a creative type in attacking midfield or a winger. I'm sure they'll manage some kind of band-aid. Hopefully we manage to fluke something worthwhile, regardless, the process can only be deemed a shambles.

My guess is somebody like Paqueta. Think they want another player with experience, physicality and quality. Don't feel as if it'll be Akliouche, BEK etc

They would absolutely sign both if it meant fucking us up the ass sideways.

So, you are basing the fact you think he's a good player on absolutely nothing.

Sound logic. Can't argue with that. Nice one.

Keep on clappin those cheeks for baldy

So you were still wrong then.

I hope this helps too.
🤣🤣🤣

Off the top of my head i thought Lange had.

Those three aside Lange has made some good signings.

Regards,

Shaggy Rogers
He signed none of those players lol . Paratici and Gabanni signed Vicario. As he did Vuskovic when he was 16 before he could actually join ditto Van der Ven, he also scouted and signed Sarr. Bentancur Kulusevski. And Spurs worked from his list post the ban which Maddison and (Sadly) Dragusin were on.

OK but I just looked at Romano's X account and didn't see advertising, I suppose they're on his videos and not his X page with all the here we go tweets?
He does post ads on his X, there's one from today if you scroll back to 11:23. Seen him do a few different betting companies, AirBNB etc. I think verified X accounts also get a share of ad revenue if they get over a certain amount of views which I'm sure he easily does during the window.
