Competition Are we playing for 5th ?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Villa looking dodgy
Forest's chairman is certifiable and may lose Nuno
Newcastle have an issue with Isak and without him they're really not great.
Pool are an injury to VVD away from being very beatable, maybe even with him as the defence is up the left
Woolwich are a bit pants really despite the media love in just now.
We've just beaten City away
Chelsea are going to be an issue I think, but top 6 possibly top 4 is there to be had.
All down to how the squad copes with the games once they're a bit more intense time wise.
Early days I know but it looks like, with TF, that we should be winning the games we should be winning, that we didn't before
(West Ham etcetc.) and if we get the odd result when we shouldn't, i.e. any points against Chelsea, Woolwich, Liverpool etc. then we're in with a shout, no reason why not as far as I can see.

I know it's only two games, but none of the top teams from last season look all that convincing so far.

Could this be another season like 2015/16 where an underdog who finished close to the relegation zone the previous year goes on to win the league?

I am just back from my fortune telling at the fairground.

On the way back I passed Zoltar and spent a pound on it.

Then, I bumped into this beautiful 22 yr old woman who was a precognitive and told me I was going to marry her.

The one thing that came of this was the same, they all said this is the top 5 order at the end of the season.

1. Tottenham Hotspur
2. Woolwich (strange how they all said this and not the actual name)
3. Liverpool
4. Man City
5. Chelsea

They then all said they predicted Leicester City too
I hope that doesn't mean relegation is to follow :(

AND NO, I am not sharing the lottery numbers for the next 200m+ Euro Millions in a few weeks time

Time for my cornflakes and I have the doctors this afternoon.

Independant of what happens between now and the end of the transfer window I think we can push for 5th with our squad, I don't think this squad is up to much but I think our coach will get a lot out of it.

Us and Newcastle are the best coached teams - they will be our direct rivals, Utd are a mess and I don't think Amorim will get the best out of them and Villa look a bit stale and toothless.

Forest I think will be pushing again, they've bought some good players and they are rumoured to want Rodgers from Celtic who is a good coach and can push them.

Who was it that does the match result comparison to last season? Loved that.

For example, substitute Burnley for Leicester and they beat us 2-1 at home last season.

We picked up 3 points at the Etihad last season (and every season since records began 😉)

Therefore we're currently 3 points better off by comparison to last year.

Yep... We're winning it all!!

Great chance to really build momentum in the league over the next 5 games…

*equally great chance for us to trip over our laces, fall flat on our face and lose them all 😂

Huge five games. I think this is where we may struggle. We are perfectly set up under Frank to play the big sides and think we will gain lots of points from these games but how will we cope with low block teams when the onus is all on us to attack and score.
The bench is weak as piss and doesn’t look like it will improve much which will hamstring the new manager.
Still optimistic we have the right man to push us further up the table than 7th tho.

Amorim won’t last the season.

That match by match comparison was like clockwork until it got into negative points territory and then it disappeared quicker than the Titan submersible!! Never to be seen again.

If anyone does it this year it’s the ultimate feel good thread.
We really cannot fail to improve on the shitshow that was the 2024/25 premier league.

For some reason I feel it was sudoku ??

Hopefully we can convince him to work his magic for us again this season!

Just don’t let www www anywhere near it. His “will we ever lose again” thread was the beginning of the end for Ange. Cursed him.

Liverpool looked nothing like the team of last season in their game at SJP. Their keeper and slack finishing from Newcastle kept them in it in the 1st half. They get a jammy goal and a gift red card in their favour and then another goal to 'kill it off' and proceed to then get battered by 10 men and somehow escape with 3 points.
Will be very interesting to see how they get on against the Arse who themselves only won at Man U as they have a good keeper and Man U don't.
Chelsea looked good at the Olympic Bowl but I think quite a few teams will bump up their scoring charts at the expense of Wet Spam.
So the only team with 2 good performances or 3 if you include PSG is the mighty Spurs.

Until fatigue and injuries cause our league form to drop due to lack of depth.

Then second season the manager doesn't get backed and the decline continues leading to their inevitable replacement

I agree- without a Kudus level player on the pitch at all time it will not happen, and we only have 1 Kudus right now. If he could stay healthy and play each Prem game it might be possible though.
