Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Why are spurs aggregators commentating on a move to Chelsea?

They do realise it ultimately embarrasses the fan base?
The article they are quoting states he is in London to speak to us, as Chelsea have changed their target to Fermin Lopez.

Personally, I thinking it's too much of a coincidence that he is in London the same day Milan finalise their move for Nkunku. Definitely not get my hopes up.

Well, if you really believe we can win The CL in Franks first season, with our current squad, I tip my hat to you whilst calling for a doctor.

I don't see why not. If the squad can be kept fit, they absolutely can win.

The issue is keeping the squad fit, more so that the quality of the players.

I'm sure a couple of signings will come in by next week, hopefully some backup for Porro, VDV and a forward. I suspect Spurs don't need a traditional number 10.

The dogs on the street can see how this plays out.
Spurs hold talks with Simons.
Personal terms and fee agreed.
We get the "Here we go!"
Oh, what's that? Oh he's on his way to Chelscum!
Spurs a laughing stock again.
No-one signed today again

Mate, as the poster said, let's hope our players don't suffer injuries, more likely by being called up for international duty, but injury prone isn't technically difficult to understand

We need quality additions, which we aren't looking like we will secure, and that is massively disappointing.

I would go as far as saying neglectful and shameful for a club of our stature.

More quality addition yes, neglectful and shameful i mean, you can describe it however makes you feel better

Injuries are part an parcel of the game man. You cannot mitigate for every one, we need quality additions for sure but people are writing off our squad before they have even seen how they are going to perform under our new manager and honestly, I am happier with our squad even now than I have been for years

Chelsea have 356 players but it won’t stop them doing Garnacho and Simons. I’m not even going to stress myself about what looks obvious.

Of course I want Simons here, but I’ve seen this story. It’s been left too late and it’s got “we tried” and being pumped by those corrupt fuckers all over it.

This is what really bother me... we appear to have genuinely tried (yeah, I know, 'we tried' is our annual, tongue-in-cheek transfer window catchphrase), but we clearly have tried, yet there are so many opportunities that we haven't been able to get over the line.

From the get-go, we backed away from Mbeumo when it became clear he only wanted Man Utd. Then we lost out on MGW and Eze, and it looks like our pursuits of Savinho, Paz and Hincapie are over (I don't buy for one second the claim that we were never interested in Hincapie... we just withdrew to safe face once Woolwich entered the frame). Now we're talking with Simons and it's hard to see how that doesn't end up being anything but an Eze 2.0.

I want to disagree with you but then I would be lying to myself.

I'm not sure there has ever been anything like it.

You are the one mentioning the "gap". I'm not because last season as a freak season so shouldn't be used to measure any metrics.

All I'm saying is our season derailed last year once we hit a bad injury crisis. We have not strengthened our squad enough since then. We've added 2 first team players and lost son. And we already have 3 first team players our injured (Maddison, Kulusevski, Udogie). Its fine now with one game a week and no fatigue.

But once the CL kicks off next month and we've a game every 3 days then that's when the test really starts and once the injuries rack up we'll once again see that this squad is not strong enough to compete. Frank will probably do the opposite to Ange and prioritise the league at the expense of europe and the cup competitions so I am confident that our league season will be far better, but we'll have to go out of all the cups early to do that.

The squad isn't better than last season. Its roughly the same. We haven't prepared ourselves for this season. We are 3 more first team players short. A LCB/LB, CAM and LW. Everyone knows this including the club. Don't pretend that we are fine. If we don't sign them then we are fucked. Thats the reality.

There is a huge distance between fine and fucked my friend. Youre a glass completely empty kind of guy. Preparing for some kind of huge injury crisis and using 3 players short as some kind of reason to be throwing your boys out of the pram.

Im admittedly a glass half full kind of guy

I think our squad is in better shape, more mature with players like Bergvall and Gray more prem ready and we will be playing in a much better system that suits the players much more.

Im excited for the season regardless of who we do or do not sign the rest of the window.

I also remember Woolwich "cooling" on Eze like it was last week.

Oh wait...

Yet half the posters here are obsessed with them.

Sick of hearing about a shit website I haven't - and never will - visit.

Blimey, firing them off on all cylinders today.

I would say its the heat but it's cooled down.

Nobody visit that site and come here with their thoughts. Don't post on the laugh at Unitrd thread unless you are laughing at United, and I'll come back with thr next thing once the next eruption arrives.
