Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Real and Pep defo broke him somewhat but he still came back and won the the title with Chelsea so the illusion was still in tact but after United everyone but fucking Levy could see that this guy doesn’t have it anymore.

Employing the guy who wanted to pay you 50m for Eric Dier is just negligent.
The thing that made his tactical philosophy no longer viable was the proliferation of pressball. He's never gotten a handle on how to operate in possession against teams that play that way, which exploded between 2015 and 2020.

Yeah, he also just got older and wasn’t as able to connect to Millennials and Gen Z in the same way as his more old school guys like Terry, Lampard, Zanetti, Motta, etc.

Twat. That's always the response from idiots who have no spine and believe everything levy does is great .....especially having a smaller squad than most others in the champions league as we dont have enough home grown players ans so uefa rules mean we will have a 22 man squad and not the usual 25 ...some more quality transfer planning by levy.
Also im sure that you are a gooner, no real supporter should settle for this incompetence and bullshit. So enjoy watching eze and hincapie playing in your souless stadium and your shit red kit ....

Sure thing Arteta 🙂

I cant remember the last time I was as excited about signings as I have been for Xavi, Muani and Kudus.

Maybe Eriksen and Lamela. Or VDV. When was the last time we bought such experienced and talented attackers?

Compare the fact that we cant seem to sell anyone ever shows how crap our recruitment has been the past 5 years.

Chelsea and Liverpool are fetching good prices and re investing.

If we could bring in 100m we could have spent another 100m on top of what we did.
It’s more complicated than that. There are only to really profitable markets to sell to atm. The other Premier League Clubs, most of whom can’t be bothered with Levy and the Saudi league who it seems we don’t have the right contacts to access.

4/10 is 40% of the outfield players.
You are making it sound like that's not a significant amount.

Porro, Romero, VdV, Spence, Simons, Muani, Palhinha, Kudus would all get significant minutes in a combined squad, whilst Udogie, Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski at least would well capable of rotation roles.

If you are talking in terms of these hypothetical best 11s when everyone is fit, well I don't think we even know who gets in our own.
I didn't mention an 11... I meant first team squad...ony 4 of ours in their squad at best..

😂😂😂😂OK rioch..
Or are you too young for that one, it does seem like you've only been watching football for a short time, judging by your responses..
I'm a grown up so you telling me I'm a gooner means fuck all, I'm not swayed by anyone else's bullshit and I stand up for what I believe..and stand behind my opinions without any flip flopping just because of one cup...this is about the future of tottenham, and sustained success, which means without levy the parasite...nothings changed

There has certainly never been a time when such a large share of our flash and creativity in attack was brought by new signings.

That's a product of injury as much as anything, but still.

Danso,Palhinha, Simons, Kudus & Muani all look good buys
Tel & Takai not so good.
How good a window this is remains to be seen and we have to wait a few months to see how it pans out
Glad it is all over and I will not need to spend the time scanning this thread.
Notice some idiot has started the January thread. God knows why as until we see how it goes and what injuries we get we have no idea what is needed. Should be banned like threads for players not officially signed. Might look at that in January but not before. If all goes well we will not buy anyone and save the money to next summer when more top players are available.

Also genuinely how many of our squad would get into their squad, and who would they replace ???
I would say muani is better than jesus.
Kudus better than trossard, I know it's a slightly different position....
Van de ven and romero for Ben white and timber..
That's it....4 players.....
Wgat do you think, I would love to know your thoughts on the 2 squads ?
A better question would be how many of their players would get into our squad. My answer is none as we should never again have ex Gooner players in our squad. Never works.

Edit

End of window edit:

6/8/DP
Palhinha 5/10
30yo very one dimensional Palhinha the only add, Bentancur still here. Bissouma neither here nor gone. From this very important area of the pitch it's been a bad window.
Overall 3/10

Attack
Kudus 7.5/10, Simons 8.5/10, RKM 7/10, Tel 4/10
In isolation of this window alone, those three together are good business, possibly as good a business as we've ever done in one zone in one window. The fact that it's put us in the position that we should be in already somewhat tempers it. And we singularly failed to bring in a quality first team ready LF, despite shipping out Son, failed to ship out Richarlison or Johnson.
Overall 7.5/10

LCB
No one
Overall 0/10

LB
No one
Overall 0/10

If you were just rating our attacking recruitment this window, you'd say it was a very good window, trouble is, we've still managed to somehow not add a back up LB or LCB (or a hybrid who can cover both), we've only added a 30yo, fairly one dimensional, not so busy any more cunt to a midfield that lacked any press resistance or passing ability. We also didn't shift any of the dross, which is one of the reasons our net spend keeps looking high, because we never get any fucking money for our shitcunts like other top teams do. So overall, being realistic, I 'd say it was a 6/10.

Calling GOAT GOAT a cunt and a kid used to result in every post you have done in the last year downvoted and the worst language imaginable directed at you and everyone you ever knew.

Times have changed...maybe he is a grown up now :paraticiwink:
