I didn't say that plenty of cup finals and semi finaks
I was going to say probably 3 or 4. But then realised I guess we don’t know if we would have beaten the team they knocked out.
But sounds like we can both agree that spending has a lot to do with success & enic & levy didn’t spend enough.

I do wonder if losing Kane is the moment which decided for Vivienne Lewis that enough is enough. Lost our talisman and greatest ever goal scorer in the modern era because Levy failed to make us an ambitious and competitive team on the pitch.

Kane only left two years ago and these things take time to implement and execute when you are ousting someone like Levy from the club. All the noise about Vivienne and the grumbling about changes and not being happy about Levy started when Kane was leaving. Maybe just a coincidence

I’m assuming she must have had a large input on the hiring of Vinai and potentially Frank too.

The statement last night about Charrington, Vinai and Frank indicates these are all very much Lewis appointees.

As good old Jim from Topspurs said last night, “it’s now the same car with a faster driver” and hopefully we all have reason to be optimistic.

Also I woke up this morning and laid there for a minute before I remembered Levy had gone, and I smiled!

Now Levy has gone it might open up the possibility of Kane returning......iirc Kane never forgive Levy for his refusal to negotiate with Man City

Well I certainly didn't see that coming .I haven't a clue how things will pan out but will give Levy credit for getting the ground done even if the expectations of seriously trying to compete didn't come about .Football is a crazy buiness with the money involved but hopefully we can find a way to pay the going rate for players and finally compete for top honours ,most likely need new owners for that .

Yeah he left Kane no choice but to go as he would never win major stuff here. We have spent more than we sold Kane for on rich & solanke & they are miles away from his talent. Another huge mistake from levy losing our best player & top goal scorer.
Sheringham & klinsmann both came back at the end. It would be similar to when sheringham returned after having to leave to win stuff for a few years.

Only difference is the club has won a more prestigious trophy than Kane has since he's been gone

I think Lewis and his family want to cash in their chips, they will make a humongous profit on their initial investment. Im not sure Levy is as willing to sell his stake

Mixed feelings.
Built us into a world class business. Financially bullet proof but shame about the team.
I'll never forgive him for the three transfer windows following the CL final.
Peak Kane, Son, Eriksen, Dele, Lloris wasted. Once in a generation opportunity ignored.

Thats a bit harsh really, I could understand if we never got to any Semi or finals while he was here but thats not the case, maybe if Kane was the bigger person he would have refused to start the CL final and come on later in the game as he wasn't fully fit, I think in a way Kane going was better for us , as it used to be about "Spurs need to win a trophy for Kane" how about Spurs need to win a trophy for the fans?
Will England get the same stick if we get to another Final with Kane and don't win it, or will Kane need to start taking some of the responsibility in that he is a brilliant player, but he is a level below the like of those who can have that bit of magic to win you a final?

The stadium development came at a good time and bad time

Good - we had a young talented squad, which got us through a period where we couldn't invest as much into the team......many teams get relegated just after building a stadium

Bad - we missed the real opportunity to capitalise on the young talented squad

Yeah thats a fair point, I do think there is more to it - the stories they are leaking about wanting us to win more just seem like media bullshit, I will be very happy to be proved wrong though but I think this is all leading up to a sale of the club.
The win more thing is most likely just a narrative slapped on to appeal to us fans, with the decision being more business in nature, but probably with some sporting aspects baked in.
