I am happy he has gone, but nervous as to what might happen next. If ENIC are going to more heavily invest with a view to turning us into real regular trophy contenders and winners then I would be very happy with that. Changing wage structure and things like that.

I'm apprehensive though if a sale is in the works and who it might be too. Under Levy I often daydreamed about a filthy rich billionaire who lives to win taking us over and things like that, but now the possible reality is here it really makes me nervous. I like the fact we got this far organically without cheating and crazy money, maybe I'm being stupid but the thought of our name being tainted by some murky cunt like say a Marinakis coming in worries me a bit.

Also as much as Levy annoyed me by his lack of ambition in the transfer market, he most certainly was not always bad for us. He has done some very good bits along the way.
You forget enic & levy’s desire was to be in the super league. We aren’t some sort of moral organic club. We furloughed staff too during Covid. Our owner has been done for insider trading & fraud, I think only a few of our fans think we are some moral club doing things the right way. That myth died many years ago! We would be in the super league if levy & Enic had their way!

They're all murky cunts, some of them are just louder about it than others.

And you needn't worry about us doing a 2000's Chelsea or 2010's City, that level of market distortion is no longer permitted.

So is the club listening to the fans - as many on here want us to believe - or wanting to ultimately end up in a Super League?

I said it in the other thread...

If you think this decision on a £3 billion asset was made because the fans chanted a few words, then you need to pray that they aren't prepping for a sale because we won't find better owners.

I'm just glad the crowd/protests haven't started shouting for the cheese room cos I hate the stuff.

Plenty of ownership changes in the pl (even non oil money ones, and traditional big business looking for an actual prifit) have led to stronger results.

Take Liverpool as one massive example.

I can concede that I think vocal protests can instigate smaller change but chants aren't influencing decisions around the leadership at the very top of a billion pound company.

Hindsight is 20:20 as they say!

If we’d have sold Dele in his pomp there’d have been massive fan kickback!
It's possible that inside the club there were indications of the direction Dele was heading, but from the outside he was unsellable. I don't blame Levy at all for not entertaining offers at the time, even though in retrospect it would have looked brilliant.

Dier was different. We all knew at the time we were getting offered more than he was worth, but the insecurity around being a "selling club" and the inability to adequately use the money in the transfer market because of our archaic Levy-driven process caused us to refuse the squad evolution that team needed.

Liverpool have probably been the kings of the transfer market in recent years.

Sold Coutinho for big money that was wisely invested and took them to the next level.
