Doesn’t look physical though, right Shadydan Shadydan ?

🤪

Surely Frank can see this kid needs to be in the middle of the park bullying people and also dominating technically? #10 just seems to take him out of the middle of the park and reduce his impact.
The reason he's playing as a 10 is simple, we only have him and Xavi for the position.

Be interested to see how much ground this kid covers … he’s an absolute menace

If he can learn to arrive in and around the box like lampard he’ll do well.

Just relentless levels of energy

Was sloppy today but with the right coaching could be a top player

nothing really came off for him today, his touch was poor but still liked his performance. He’s just full of energy. He’s a massive presence on the pitch and he always tries to make things happen. He’s going to be a talismanic figure for us

When he gets up to full pelt there's no stopping him.

I've even got Gooner mates saying he looks the bollocks.

I think the goals start coming soon and he's the next one that the Madrid's and Barca's are sniffing around in a couple of years.

As mentioned above. Far better in a deeper role and making his runs from there, rather than further forward. Even when he has an off day like today, he still covers so much ground and is a general nuisance to the opposition. Hope he gets a game off on Wednesday

he seems to over run with the ball when out on the right, (seen it last few games)
he gets the ball in our half runs with the ball but doesn't pass the ball to Kudus until he is by his side at this time there are 3 defensive players around them, if he had passed earlier Kudus had 1 man to beat then clear grass ahead of him
it happened 3 or 4 times yesterday as the same in other matches

Bergvall shouldn’t be playing ahead of the ball. He was woeful as the most advanced CM. So much better at 8 with a true 10 ahead of him.

The same goes for Sarr (tended to play well with Maddison ahead of him).
Fully agree.

Thankfully Xavi looked absolutely mustard when he came on at 10. Bergvall alongside Sarr is a much more energetic 6/8 set up. Bergvall - Palhinha is a bit more assured against teams where we'll need to be a bit more pragmatic. With Bentancur/Sarr interchanging to provide suitable cover. Hopefully Gray can get to a place where he reinforces that area even more.

Really impressed with Bergvall though, the fact that he's only 19 is remarkable.

Was at fault for their second

Richy injured, kick the fucking ball out. His weak clearance went straight back to then after we were under pressure to clear lines

Not a 10. Good player tho, similar to Sarr in some ways

Agree he was at fault for the goal (along with Vicario who simply was not ready for a shot).

Yesterday he gets a 10/10 for endeavour, but only a 6/10 for execution. So many screw ups at key moments / final balls. If we play a #6, a #8 and a #10 I think Bergvall is competing for the #8 role with Sarr. #10 has to be Xavi Simons

Lacks vision in the final third and bumbles about and holds onto the ball too long in deeper areas, which cost us a goal yesterday, not for the first time.

I thought of the young Jordan Henderson’s game when watching him a time or two after he arrived, not a later comp but when he had first moved over from Sunderland. I think Berg is going to be a cornerstone of what we do in the years to come.
