Match Spurs v Brighton (Away) - Sat 20th September - KO: 3pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Spot on. Tbf though I felt Odobert had some moments 1v1, not enough but like you said, he can take the ball and move it to a teammate in space ahead of him fairly reliably, something that's completely absent in Johnson's game along with many other deficiencies.

Odobert needs a run of games he has never had that at spurs. Differcult to come on as sub and start once every 5 games

Left sided forward is a major issue , nobody is good enough . I’m sure it will be the first buy next summer window . The positive is hopefully we are limited in our needs , if we can get Madison back fit and that’s a big IF then I’m happy with him and Xavi as a 10 , will still need another full back and a 9 to replace Richarlison but all of a sudden it’s not a huge overhaul . Where we need to improve is selling players , Richi , Bissouma , tel or odobert , Johnson potentially aswell .

When the ref blew for a non foul from Vicario's pass to Kudus I knew it was not gonna be our day. A minute later they scored.
I watched a replay hours after the game and knew the result, but I still screamed “THATS NO FOUL REF” at my IPad, Kudus was about to shoot as well. Could’ve, been a whole different game had the ref not made such a shit decision

Oddly enough, his error today was in stopping a shot. But it was a helluva good shot, and he should be allowed an error in that department once in a while.

Today, he had good enough command of his area and his 'long' distribution was, apart from one kick, pretty good. In both these (important) aspects of his play, there are notable improvements this season.

Well I hope so for his sake. On the bench we have Kinsky who is an elite distributor. Real competition for that spot now.

I think Odobert has the potential to be good enough, very good general play. Tel isn’t for me a left winger and Johnson isn’t good enough holding the ball under pressure or dribbling but obviously has a goal in him.

Ideally we go back in Jan for Savinho or throw the £70-80m at Semenyo. Then have an elite left winger with Odbert as the cover. Will really up our attack if we do that.

On a rewatch and I think better of the performance than I did in real time. Shouldn’t have conceded either of theirs and the second should have been stopped but it was a decent strike. Not bad defensively at all for the majority of it.

The two boners in the first half created a big hole but we didn’t collapse the way we might’ve with self inflicted wounds as such. Subs were needed sooner however.

Xavi and Kudus so good. The most glaring, blinking, blindingly bright fact is that we need a first rate striker, we are so held back by not having one. Nothing against Richy as a sub or a squad player but his shot into the side netting tells the story.

I give much more credit than I previously did, for the spirit if not the execution

Our fanbase seems to be in a bit of a post Levy wilderness

Everyone searching for a new person to blame for everything

Exhibit number one.

A seventeen goal season, and scorer of the winning goal of the EL final.

Two goals in five games this season.

He's on the bench, possibly rightly so, but anyone thinking he should come on and morph into Kudus isn't being realistic.

Bottom line is Frank is improving the squad depth, and we have to recognize that fact.

Cut the kid some slack.

Spurs remain 2nd in table with 10 points and a GD of +7 (10 f, 3 a) after Villa/Sunderland and Bournemouth/Newcastle draws.

Woolwich play ManCity later and any result for Woolwich means they would overtake Spurs, but if ManCity win neither club overtakes us.

Its a bit early to watch the table but being in top 4 after 5 games is not a bad position to be in at all. And with injured players still to come back in addition to Udogie's first start after injury.

So a draw at Brighton was not a bad result.

You can look at any of the top five or six teams and pick holes in their players ability to hold the ball up under pressure, those teams are full of those players, Spurs haven't cornered the market with them have they?

By the way we won't be buying either Savinho or Semenyo in January or next summer.

What we do miss is a forward with that skill, and for me Solanke can do that very well. Once he is back fully fit, he should replace Richy who cannot and never could hold the ball up and switch to attack.
