He is a bit of a lightweight poseur at times. But he does on his day have genuine quality and the ability to be creative and finish. That puts him well ahead of the rest in this squad.
Everyone should be on their hands and knees prostrating in apology to this man. He Porro and Romero are the only players in the entire squad who understand how to play actual attacking football.

Fitness/injuries are his issue. His numbers matched De Bryune at periods in prior seasons, like De Bryune he can also come deep between the lines and create, neither Eze or Simons can do that to that level. He is an outstanding footballer but if you are that injury prone and often unavailable it fucks your worth.
He is IMO ability wise better than all of our summer targets Eze, Simon’s and MGW. He is probably the best footballer at the club but counts for nothing if you can’t play. Imagine having all that talent but knowing your body can’t stay fit.
He’s become better in absence; Franks platform would hurt him in the same way that Ange boosted him by allowing him to do whatever he wanted.
If Frank can’t use Maddison then he is very limited.
