Or maybe he simply flatlined to his level.

I don't think Kudus is the spark or inspiration we have been acquainted to over the years, and genuinely think his best role for us would be a super sub.

It won't happen but neither will Kudus be that special player as some believe.

I might be completely wrong, but a bit of time on the bench fit or not, it might be a good thing for the benefit of the team.
Mate he’s been very good for us and hardly had a rest. He’s our best attacking player by a long way.

Since the winger issue is being compounded by Kudus' absence, I'd gladly go with a back 3 for this:

Vicario
Danso-Romero-VdV
Porro-Palhinha-Sarr-Udogie
Simons
Johnson-RKM

Romero in a libero role to prevent this from becoming the dreaded back 5, and giving Johnson free rein to roam in between the lines in case he nicks one somehow.

A back 4+ double pivot + Johnson and Odobert out wide could be very ugly again, not different from the Chelsea game.
I like this team apart from Johnson. I’d play Tel up with Muani and Bentancur for Sarr.

Off topic Jay boothroyd saying he and Woolwich fans are quietly confident winning the league. They've not stopped going on about it last few years. That's not quietly confident and its November!

And scored how many and set up how many of our goals?

I'm categorically not saying he us a poor player. Just not as good as some think and I worry about his lack of composure when most needed.

He's our joint highest goal contributor in the Premier League this season?

The problem with your analysis is that you're not offering an alternative because you know our alternatives are all crap.

Possibly.

The bar needs to rise dramatically or we are going to be a mid-table club.

Our next 3 or 4 signings really need to be just right, amd mediocrity needs to become a word in the past tense.

Agreed, we need better players to take this team up a level and Kudus need legit competition but singling out Kudus this season who happens to be our best attacker is a bit weird.

Totally agree with this. Trust Johnson with more end product than Kudus at the moment.

Not saying Kudus is poor, he's definitely a better ball carrier than Johnson, but his end product isn't as good.

He has 4 assists in the premier league - 3rd highest in the league. Not a bad level to flatline to. He's the one winger we have who is always willing to take on a player, has the most attempted dribbles and succesful dribbles in the league and is the spark we need to ignite the rest of the team. Nobody is perfect and there isn't a player in the league who can do everything - accept him for what he is and surely you can see the significant gap between him and the rest of our wing players?

All fair points.

I will wait to see how the season pans out.

My judgement remains somewhat unaltered however .

But the points being made in respect of Kudus and his contribution, compared to other players is a fact I cannot argue against.

We flogged him and you could see his form flat line. Horrible management and worse squad building.
Knock against Chelsea, apparently.

Also, the team wouldn't have functioned at all without him, really, if Frank had rotated him more.

We all saw he was the reason we were able to get as much out of some games that we did.

Frank was forced to risk it with him, due to state of attacking options.

Now, luckily, Kolo has come in and you can see potential to build a dynamic and relationships with, and around, him and the flow is a bit better up there, which takes the dependency off of Kudus, somewhat.

That scope wasn't there before in the final 3rd.

Anyway, hopefully a minor issue.

Dude is robust af.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game v Copenhagen; but don't be fooled into thinking it serves as a blueprint for the EPL in any way.

We were afforded a crazy amount of time on the ball........... That simply doesn't happen domestically; even with so-called bus parkers.

Vs their 343.....

Our FBs & wingers need to be on their game and force their WBs back and shut down their wide game...... Force them through the middle and we can out-number and outwork Fernandes and Casemiro.

Teams have now clicked onto the fact that we have very little on the left and have been double marking Kudus in last few games. Also he looked absolutely knackered at Newcastle.
