Agreed.

If it wasn't due to hard rotation because of injury concerns, there was no need to tinker.

That was absolutely the wrong starting 11 for this game.

----Vic----
----Porro-----Romero----VDV----Udogie----
----Palhina----Sarr----
----Johnson-----Xavi----Odobert----
----Kolo---

We'd have taken the lead with that if he'd have started with it.

We ended up still dominating the game, overall, but that would have changed the initial direction and I don't think they come back if we get our foothold in the game first, today.

He is overthinking it I think! He needs time! We are not playing great but still picking up points and you can definitely see improvements in VdV, udogie, odobert… and even tel and Dane look better when getting minutes. Just needs to find a settled team (hard when you have fragile guys like Udogie) and let them naturally build chemistry!

I think he thought Mbuemo would play on the right so he wanted to lock him down with Djed but Amorim switched him to the other side and caught him by surprise. Also Udogie is only recently back from injury and is made of glass.

I have some sympathy with Frank because he is working with a very mediocre set of players in attack, but he has to work much harder to give the team more courage at home. Right now all the terrible defeats at home in the last 18 months are weighing on the players and they are afraid of the crowd, they are afraid to take risks and hesitate constantly which just gets the crowd even more wound up.

He's almost there in terms of finding his ideal XI I think, something he was clearly struggling with earlier on in the season. Some of the wildest experiments he was pulling stemmed from this lack of clarity of mind.

For the left wing Both Tel and Odobert have made a good case for themselves today, as an inside forward and an inverted winger respectively. No need to overcomplicate things with deploying Johnson or worse Richarlison there anymore.

I'm not ready to crawl back to the double pivot after a single weak display today. Now that Simons is looking slightly better, this frees Bergvall for the box-to-box role from the #10 role that he was being asked to play earlier.

The rest kind of pick themselves, with Solanke hopefully getting back soon in decent shape to provide much needed competition for RKM. Yeah, not really.

So is our coaching staff and squad. Convenient.
Thick as pig shit you are.

If you can't see the obvious limitations Frank is working with then you're an absolute helmet. We have injuries galore and still 3rd and doing well in the champions league. Numerous injuries and the geezer just gets on with it and never makes it an excuse.

Our deluded gormless fanbase will never get it though. Maybe after manager number 37746363627273637382726262728282737389393837282839393939293939933763839392172626293030404040404 something will register but I doubt it.

I'm nearly positive we'd of won the game had he started with that 11.

What worries me is why he thought Spence and Richarlison were a good threatening combination for the left.

That's a big worry for me as it indicates he's still more worried about losing than actually setting up to be aggressive at home and win.

This is not Brentford and a big part of his transition to a bigger club will be down to shifting his managerial mind set he's had at Brentford and adapting to what's expected at Tottenham.

Players coming back from injury should help with this but that was a worrying selection for me today.

Im actually less worried about any of the tactical or personnel selection issues. For me, the concern is both today and more obviously against Chelsea, the players don’t look at all motivated. No one is running off the ball and we’re not really winning 50:50s bar a few players.
If I didn’t know otherwise I’d think this is a Mourinho 3rd season where he’s lost the the dressing room. Can’t fathom how this is the case but that’s been my frustration.

It's because we're set up to play that way. Through selection and tactical set up.

The team screams safety first. The players look scared to play at a higher tempo.

But it changed today with the subs. But we are definitely approaching a safety first approach when we kick off and the atmosphere in the stadium is tragic because of it.

The last 10 minutes of the game was electric because the crowd had something to shout about.

I'm starting to think that Frank has watched so much retro footage, of Spurs games last season under Ange, that he himself has been PTSD'd into believing that the best way for this Spurs team to win is to keep it tight for 75 minutes, stay in the game, then try and win it late so the opposition haven't got time to make a comeback.

Hopefully in a few weeks we'll see:

Vicario

Spence
Romero
VDV
Udogie

Palhinha
Bergvall
Xavi

Kudus
RKM/Solanke
Odobert

I think that could end up being our strongest 11.

Genuinely think Spence could be a more physical option for the right as Udogie will push higher on the left.

Porro just lacks that physical dynamism. On his day he has some great interplay and crossing ability but those two might bring the best balance.

God our fanbase is filled with some absolute weapons.
Agreed: So I wonder how long it will be before the chant "Frank Out' starts to appear!
