Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I’ve heard some express concern w his speed. Granted, not playing the crazy high line anymore.

But how’s that looking for him?

Hoping we get Dragusin back, let him show value, then get a good price. (Actually think in this system he’d be good, but we need some sales of CBs)

Excited for this lad.

The most important question: is that better than a team of Gary Doherty’s?:sherwoodlol:
Haha yes sorry i should have said with apologies to Gary Doherty!

It was the comment above from someone about him playing up top that made me think about that song. He genuinely looks like you could throw him up there when you need a goal.

There have been a few players over the years that could dabble in both positions. Dion Dublin springs to mind although he was the other way round. I remember us throwing Judas up there for one game ( against Leicester?) under Francis. He never played there again!

Anyway sorry, derailing the thread. He looks so good. Cannot wait to see him here.

Let's bookmark this page now... because we're ALL thinking it, he's GONNA BE the next big thing in the PL...

Assuming Romero is here longer-term now, having signed da ting... I assume Him, Danso, Vuskovic and VDV (if VDV isn't being touted around online at least after Saturday's understandable frustration/petulant tantrum/disgraceful snub/total disregard for the fans, sell sell SELL! depending on where you get your news!) are gonna provide the bedrock of our central defence for YEARS... we DON'T just need TWO world class players for every position, in some cases, we need three or FOUR!

Romero, VdV, Danso & Vuskovic are about as good a quartet as you could hope for, with something there for everyone...

2 World Class CB's, (Romero/VDV) a commanding reliable back-up option in Danso, and a generational talent like Vuskovic happy to bide his time, but clearly with the talent and ability to hit the ground running WHEN called upon!

Dragusin must be kicking himself... 'cos THAT was supposed to be HIS role in all this!

....now all we need is to get the Midfield and Attacking areas sorted!!!!!

Hamburg fans happy

#Vuskovic absolutely phenomenal again today. What an insane talent

Vuskovic outstanding again, this time against Guirassy. I'm now making our class retention entirely dependent on him: if he plays through, that's enough. For me, he's already stronger now than van Buyten Prime

Better than Van Buyten prime! Pretty high praise indeed...

I wonder if he is so good we seriously consider moving to a 3-4-3 ? Let us ponder for a moment:

Xavi - RKM - Kudus
Udog - Sarr - Palh - PP
VdV - Vusk - Rom
Vic
I think that looks like a pretty badass lil team there...

Vusk is now such a hot talent he needs to be starting somewhere- we're fast approaching a time when a significant decision will have to be made about him, and if we can incorporate him into the starting lineup or not.

Yeah we'll need to manage him well. Given his talent it seems like he could slot straight in next season as our 3rd/4th choice CB and, with Romero and VdV's injury records, that could mean plenty of minutes.

I think you can also make an argument for sending him our for more season on loan. If he comes back and doesn't start very often we could stunt his development. The loan approach worked really well for Woolwich with Saliba - but we need to get the balance right and make sure he feels connected enough to Spurs. Arteta cut it very fine with Saliba who was getting pissed off being farmed out year after year. IIRC he was close to leaving at one point.

Would we switch to a back 3 just to accommodate him? I mean, maybe? Would be a good option to have in our locker at least.

This was a kid wanted by Real Madrid and Man City and across Europe, we pulled off a coup. It’s not normal for us to have a talent like this, club needs to be fearless, if he ends up as the new Van Dijk we can’t just play Romero or VDV because they are older, if he lives up to his talent club needs to embrace it.

I mean yeah sure - if he comes into the PL and is instantly clearly our best CB then absolutely make him first choice. Just think it's more likely there's be at least one season of transition as he's eased in.

I agree it’s probably a year or so but it is very odd that a player that would normally be making his debut off the bench for Real or Bayern is with us. I just hope we don’t fuck it up.

Gold:

Luka Vuskovic (Hamburg)

Luka Vuskovic has become an ever-present for Hamburg and is hugely popular with the club's fans, his shirts selling in large numbers for the Bundesliga outfit.

The late drama wasn't just reserved for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the 18-year-old centre-back enjoyed a day to remember on Saturday as Hamburg grabbed a 97th minute leveller at home against Borussia Dortmund.

Vuskovic played the full match in the back three and joined in the wild celebrations as substitute Ransford Konigsdorffer headed home Miro Muheim's cross at the death.

Spurs' young Croatian recorded the hosts' most defensive contributions on the day as he managed 10 clearances, including nine headed ones, along with three interceptions, two blocks and two ball recoveries.

Vuskovic is settling in very well at Hamburg and media outlet Bild reported last month that he is still studying for his school qualifications through online learning and learning German and Italian to complement his English and Croatian language skills.

The teenager has played eight times for the Bundesliga side since joining, scoring once and only picking up one yellow card despite the amount of defending he has to do for the battling side from Hamburg.

Luka Vuskovic (Hamburg)

Luka Vuskovic is thoroughly enjoying himself at Hamburg, the club that have supported his brother Mario through his suspension until next year

Barring a huge centre-back injury crisis at Tottenham it would appear to be detrimental to the 18-year-old's development to take him away from the Bundesliga, where he has become an ever-present at the back and often leads their defensive stats. The German club and the fans love him and it feels like the perfect education for Vuskovic at a higher level than he was playing in before.

The teenager admitted himself soon after moving that he could quickly tell after training with the likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven just how far below their level he was at this stage in his development. His potential is huge though and learning in the German league, with its similarities in pace and physicality, should help him bridge that gap and get involved with Tottenham's first team fully next season.

Last month, Hamburg sporting director Claus Costa said he was not worried about a January recall for Vuskovic.

"We had very constructive discussions with Tottenham; they’re a top-professional club, judging by the communication with loan manager Andy Scoulding. They’re closely monitoring the player, which shows how they assess Luka. Tottenham isn’t interested in weakening us or ruining the loan," he said.

"It’s understandable that they’re trying to protect themselves against possible worst-case scenarios. Otherwise, I don’t want to comment further. I believe Tottenham also knows how good the situation here is for Luka. That’s why I hope we never get into a situation where we have to think about anything else."

Verdict: Stay (barring an injury crisis)
