Match PSG v Tottenham Hotspur Wednesday 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And that motto is fair comment as well.
Me personally, I can't stand the club taking part in games that end 4-3 or 5-4, its not for me.
Rather win 2-0 in a more professional performance.
As a neutral i like seeing high scoring games, but to me it looks unprofessional.
There's a lot to be said for that outlook, it would certainly be easier on the old blood pressure.
But I love the excitement of the back and forth, remember that West Ham game when we were 2-0 down and won 4-3 in the last minute - that's what I love to see (not that I like it when it's the other way round). I just think modern PL football is quite boring on the whole, it's become too strategic and I miss the spontaneity. Still, each to their own, it'd be a boring world if we were all the same :)

Kane is the best striker in the world but have to say from last season to now Vitinha might be the best footballer in the world. I’d have said that if he never scored a goal ever, his passing and control of the game is crazy but to now add goals to his game is nuts. Like Modric 2.0. He just dominates the midfield in every way.

Vitinha unloved and unwanted at Wolves n 2021 before moving to PSG in 2022 aged about 22 (he's now 25),

Maybe a morale there saying don't judge young players as they may dramatically improve over time : not true for all of course as some plateau at younger ages and never seem to make dramatic improvements later

That game against West ham i was at that game , was a topsy turvy game no question.
I agree its boring now, the fun has gone out of it much like society in general.
You have to be careful what you say because of the soft, woke lefty people, it has suppressed much of the humour.
But yeah, you're right, if we were all the same that would be boring as well.

Was a great game to win and bedlam outside afterwards!!

It probably helps that he's not surrounded by Championship players. You put Bergvall in Woolwich midfield he'd be 150m and being tapped up by Real.

Until xg is counted to turn a game into a victory, I find it irrelevant and a tad boring.
I get that people enjoy the statistical side of the game, but personally I think it's just a load of nonsense, made up to give pundits a job.
It's an industry in itself.

Load of bollocks,

Opened the door for a load of dorks to enter the game professing to be knowledgeable about it because they can read stats. lol

When they haven't got the first clue about what they're watching.

Farcical.

Certainly was the best for many years...not so sure anymore...I think Haaland has overtaken him now...

I think my takeaway is that if the same match and players played again, its unlikely Spurs would make the same mistakes (cough Bentancur, Romero) and the result would be that Spurs would not lose.

We scored 3 good team goals which had been made by practicing passages of play on the training ground (eg Bergvall on left wing running into a crowd of PSG players so Gray runs on inside towards PSG goal line with Bergvall giving him a reverse pass allowing Gray to put in a good cross for Richarlison to head back across goal for Kolo Muani to head the goal - all elements practiced on training ground but put together on pitch by our players.

By contrast probably 3 if not 4 PSG goals were down to a player pouncing on a Spurs player mistake to score. So if Spurs cut out errors, PSG don't score as many.
There's definitely positives. Far more so than losing by the same number of goals but 2-0 with fcuk all up front, IMO.

Haaland just scores goals. Kane is a brilliant playmaker and a striker of the highest ability.
Heck, he can even play CDM if if wants. Imagine him picking up the ball in the 6 area and spraying Pirlo pases out from the back when he's 40.

Accrington Stanley, Partick Thistle and Blackpool....

You mean Scunthorpe are no longer a top 3 side???

i hate everything fml GIF by funk

Young Mr. Tomo Tomo said striker...not all rounder...
That's what I was addressing...

We score 3 goals and still lose by two.

COYS!

Still, l thought our attitude was way better than on Sunday. Bodes well for Fulham.

Definitely happier with the overall performance.
We did make lots of mistakes though.

I feel we are becoming far too lax in recognizing long range shot threats. Maybe side effect of Frank not rating them as they are 'low xG' chances.

What nobody seems to take into account though is certain players you can't fuck around with and it's not such low xG when they have a shot.
Need to tighten up on that. Villa have been banging in shots outside the box winning matches for weeks running, including 2 against us.

So I'd like us to both recognize the threat teams have - conceding too many long shots now - plus practice our long shooting more so we can strike if it's a good opportunity to shoot.

I hope we can bring the same positive energy to the Fulham game.. more of last night's type of play (sans mistakes) would stand us in better stead in the league and may help the home form turn around. Having 2 up top was quite nice as well, maybe that might work at home too..
