don't want to associate appearances/aesthetic in any way, but he reminds me of what Davinson Sanchez was supposed to be. Big, strong, and reliable player. He doesn't have a particularly unique style about him, or a standout attribute (unlike Romero, VdV, Verts, or Toby) but is just like an 8 out of ten all around. Seems like he;s doesn't really have the kind of erratic headless chicken mode than Sanchez had.
I would say like a more imposing Ben Davies, but Ben has always had a total random wander up the pitch to suddenly be a random midfielder like Verts.

None of this is a bad thing - I've been a big fan of him since he came in. Another one of those players who you know exactly what you're getting from him, even it he's not destined to be world class

huge game for him tomorrow if he starts! hasnt looked good enough imo, looks uncomfy on the ball and sluggish physically, levels below what we need. if he has a poor game tomorrow, we should be looking to offload and replace. the backup still needs to be to a sufficient standard.

Good point, and with Champions League games requiring more depth he's a good fit and cover in case of injuries.

The other night was the exact point, really. I don't think he would have ever been capable of the shitshow that Romero had, but is also not capable of a top-class Romero performance either.

Very predictable, even if not a kind of standout MoTM candidate

Solid 7 out of 10 every game. Nothing spectacular but more than capable. Would swap a few of our squad for those types who show effort and graft.
I must be missing something... likeable chap but he's pretty limited... sort of player whose ceiling is 7 and the floor is 5... it felt like a panic buy when all our CB were injured last season. I don't think he moves the needle at all and if he's starting 20+ PL games for us then we really are in a bad place.

Homegrown international CB for £21m.

He's played 30 games for us so far, which is only 10 less than Romero has in the last two seasons put together.

So availability is a big plus but in everything he's been one less liability, which is well worth it

Don’t need to replace him. We still have Dragusin with Vuskovic arriving in the summer.

vusko looks promising, dragusin hasnt looked great either has he lets be honest. the drop off when you replace VDV or romero with drag or danso is too big.

defenders needs to be competent on the ball in modern football, you cant get away with donkeys, especially ones that look clumpy in their movements.

shit, the final kick of the game sums him up, hes not a footballer, just a bit of a clumsy lump who can throw far and will put his head on the ball if he can, hes the one who should of been going to the line when that clown lost the ball, people blaming VDV, VDV would have to of run past danso to get on the line, a proper CB instinctively drops to the line there as soon as they see they have the ball and keepers in no mans land.

That’s exactly what he is. Hopeless player.

Is it just me or could he be more proactive during Vicario fuckup and cover him in goal?
That was rather preety easy clearance to do. Prolly he wanted to stay in line with others, but sort of pointless behaviour to me given circumstances.
