They also finished 26 points ahead of us last season.Villa not even close to our market. Maybe the one season they rolled the dice but they spent fuck all this summer and we spent 200m.

Both the players and managers do nothing but fail here, so I’m not sure how you can come to that conclusion. We spend more than enough. We seem to get the wrong managers, more than the wrong players in my opinion.

players should practically be willing to take a vow of poverty to play for the club.
It's a problem that was there in the early-mid 70s. Players demanded under the table payments to sign (what we would call Signing On Fees in today's game) and Bill Nick refused to pay them. This greatly reduced the pool of talent available to us and eventually culminated in our relegation in 1977.
We stopped being a top tier club when the maximum wage was abolished. Bill Nick believed that the honour of playing for Tottenham Hotspur should have been enough for any player and that players should practically be willing to take a vow of poverty to play for the club.
It's a hypothetical. Unless we are in a proper relegation battle I would stick with Frank (this season at least). If January comes and we have continued on our current trajectory I would change the manager to give us a chance. Would you keep Frank in either case?
I misread and thought you said we have to change manager to save us from relegation. It's a hypothetical. Unless we are in a proper relegation battle I would stick with Frank (this season at least). I know what you say is all true.players should practically be willing to take a vow of poverty to play for the club.
I'm just going to provide the whole quote here for context and to make it clear that I was paraphrasing Bill Nicholson's sentiments and not making a personal comment.
Its the package that goes with the purchase isn't there, the wages a lower ectLike Johnson, Solanke, Richarlison, Kudus, Simons?
Porro, Gray, Romero, Maddison cost upwards of 40 mill
This club has invested massively but invested it badly
What about the 10 seasons before
Remind me, what did they win... oh that's right. A fine from the PL and UEFA...
But you guys are trying to paint a picture we dont spend money. We spent 40m on Sanchez that season FFS... okay its not 50m but not like we are picking scraps off the floor... try to keep up...
Hes a v good manager but it would be another bad appointment. Surely people realise that we won't accept a Nuno/ Frank manager and that's what Glasner is. He wouldnt last here. We need a possession/ front footed coach who isn't suicidal with his defense. No fucking idea who that is and I've no faith in the Muppets at top of club identifying the right manager. It's all pretty shit
He's too good for us.
I take issue with your second point. That group of players were taken to extra time by a semi pro team and had 22 league defeats. They couldn't run through walls for themselves, let alone the manager/club/fans/whoever else.If we are going down that route, rather Ange. Firstly, that will see the meltdown of some fans. Secondly, the players knew him already and I'm sure they would run through steel walls for him, or at least respect him more than timid Frank. Thirdly our club is a joke, and what's better than to make it even funnier. Fourth, Johnson will score goals again lol.
He's too good for us tooHe's too good for us.
Give Carrick the gig until the end of the season.
He's out of work though; unlike Glasner.
