Yeah and Kolo Muani may turn out to be a shrewd signing (shame we don’t have a reasonable option price). Probably this manager won’t help him score too many goals though.
Still maintain, unless we continue look to make future superstars we are not gonna punch though to the bigger sides. It’s all about getting the right coach and timing it right with a bunch of young players and the right seasoned ones who crest together.
There is such a thing of too much though.
Our team lacks of a lot of fight and mentality right now regardless of who the coach is, we need players who have that more than the next young project.

Problem is we overrate all of our players. Most of them are just mediocre. Even VDV. Not a star in a mid dutch side where he doesn't even play central. Should never be captain (well, we have no alternatives, so). But also Porro, Romero, Simons, even the young players.

Simons isn’t at his peak, but he’s certainly not just a young prospect. Over 100 top league appearances and 32 caps for a strong nation. He should be doing better and our expectations should be higher.
Spurs sure need reinforcements but paying £100m, who's not done so well this season...nah...

Modric, Berbatov, Bale in varying degrees took time to show their class on a consistent basis. I think we can offer Simons muchore time tbh, especially when the manager hasn't a clue how to use him and isn't brave enough to build an attack around him
