I at least want to give Odobert a chance to grow. We know what we have in Johnson; I think Odobert may have more in him, given his tools and age. It was foolish to keep both him and Tel in the squad—at least one should have been loaned.

Just taking the piss out of Johnson critics who have allowed their opinions of him, and the extremist nature of internet arguments, to lead them to make silly statements like goals are just stats and football is more than winning.
It's a game whose object is strictly scoring more goals than your opponents. Its like contending how many times a player checkmates their opponent in chess is just a stat and what really matters is how you've moved your pawns about.

I hear this pish he scores goals and he’s effective. If you are footballer and you are anonymous for 99% of the game and offer fuck all then that is not effective even if he scores. The person that plays instead of him might not score but be in the game and contribute.
