Admittedly, some (like Mimms) were just shit... But we certainly didn't make them any BETTER by targeting them the way we did...
Ghaly brought it on himself by being a petulant cunt...

But we've done it to players nowhere NEAR as bad as them...

Maybe every Fanbase does it to some extent... I just always feel it's highlighted with us, maybe 'cos we do it louder and hold a grudge longer??!!

I reckon we could quote easily put together an entire 'Boo-Boys XI' if we put our minds to it!

He's getting the same game time as any 2nd keeper has ever gotten, really. He plays the cup games.
If we were in the Europa Conference League, he'd probably play there too.

As I mentioned, he's still very young for a goalkeeper. Vicario is first choice keeper and hasn't really justified being dropped yet.

I expect if we had Pep as manager it would be his first act, as he prefers to have that ball-playing skillset over shot-stopping, which is what led to the nuking of Joe Hart's career

Kinksy is a shit keeper and not good with his feet.
He made makes a mistake a game.
Vicario rarely makes mistakes and pulls off fantastic saves.
We would be in serious trouble if we played Kinsky instead of Vic.

And yes - Kinsky was a terrible choice for number 2 - we should upgrade in January,

You are correct this place is mental at times, where mediocrity is now acceptable. You chose to forget his multiple errors for the saves keepers should be making. We won the Europa league in spite of him, if vdv had not covered for his error he would have been crucified, yet anyone in front of him makes any error and he is out waving his arms and berating his fellow players.
Just accept the fact he is nowhere near good enough, he has had more than adequate time and yet still continues to have the same shortfalls.
I wish he was the solution and that money could be spent elsewhere, but he ain't, and as one of the main parts of the teams spine it needs addressing asap.
 
Vicario is in top 6-7 in save percentage, saves per 90 and he’s second in ‘goals prevented’.
Yeah, we know his weaknesses — they’ve been apparent since he arrived — but to suggest that he’s nowhere near good enough is hyperbolic.
Chances are we won’t get an upgrade without a substantial layout (unless we can sign a free agent) and there are far more pressing concerns.

No. That's just a really really awful take.

He's literally the only reason we aren't already in a relegation battle. He's an elite shot stopper who has been stopping a fuck ton of shots because we have no ability to keep possession.

When we sign players (and/or a manager) who can play possession football and, thus, reduce the dependency on a pure shot-stopper GK - we can then transition to a ball playing keeper who can also stop shots (expensive) - but until we sign Wharton etc... we'll make do with the elite shot stopper who is currently keeping us in CL and out of relegation problems

Fuck me this club deserves relegation given the stupidity of some of its fans...

I disagree - agree an elite shot stopper, but his weaknesses are broader than the ability to kick a ball. He’s jumpy, lacks presence and isn’t calm at all. No aura or presence

If you think Vicario is the biggest problem in our squad then I don't know how to help you.

We upgrade him when we we have upgraded the actual catastrophes in our squad

I didn’t say he was the biggest problem - he’s shocking IMO but yes, not as shocking as our CM and the general lack of skill and ability on the ball.

I don’t think you have to sequence upgrades - just bring in a new GK ASAP and in parallel, look to also improve other catastrophic areas. If the new GK comes first, so be it….recruitment and selection is situational based on availability, not a binary process

Vicario would be one of the best back up keepers in the league. For me he lacks many things that stop him being a really good goalie.

But that’s the least of our worries. He can’t kick or distribute and it is a problem, but it’s way lower down the list.

No LW. No competent striker. No creativity. Xavi being too light for the PL. Johnson being ineffective under Frank, meaning Kudus gets over played and burned out. Kudus being marked out of the game. Richarlison falling over and not doing anything outside of random worldies. Lack of cover at LB. Udugie’s disastrous falling off a cliff. Romero picking and choosing when he performs. Obvious disconnect with the fans. Players discontented with *something* that they are being asked. Porro being fucking awful. Playing something like just 6 through balls all season. That’s just for starters.
