Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Such a shame for the guy. What should have been the best 2-3 years of his career, including a good chance of WC finals, and a (hopefully) resurgent Spurs team. He did at least (a) land the big contract before injury - don't underestimate this as it means he has financial security for life (b) win the Europa League

if Coventry get promoted to the Premier League, which looks very likely at the moment, Maddison will be back there I reckon.

No issue with Maddison but Spurs need players who can play at least 30 league games every season.

Maddison's injuries have been a feature of his career.

Spurs need to buy a replacement in January and get Maddison fit enough to sell him.

In my opinion.

Shame he didn't have one season with Kane to help him settle.

In a season where there has been some disconnect between the fans and players, even if the Brentford match showed signs of improvement, it's just nice to hear someone sound like this club actually matters to them.

we should have got him as soon as Eriksen left.
100%.

I remember saying/thinking that at the time. I also said that I'm not sure how he would have coped with Mourinho likely slagging him off and picking him out when things didn't go right. But for £25m or so, we really should have made the effort. I like the idea of him but I'm still jury out (injuries obviously being part of my doubts).

Mate;

He's as likely to have heard about a player Spurs might be signing in January, to replace him, and his agent has told him to say nice things about us on Sky last night.

Would you extend the contract of an injury prone player, who will be 30 next season when he is fit?

You might well be right; I haven 't a doubt that a player like Maddison is upgradable. I would quite happily have him as part of the squad, and fear that for his type of player, all little pivots in tight spaces, his career might well be severely impacted by this injury. Then again, there is scarcely a single player in this team I wouldn't consider upgradable, even within reason.

Also, if Scarlett Johansen said "the second Dan was in for me, I just knew he was the one for me" knowing full well it's a charade, I'm taking it!

He’s putting himself out there a bit isn’t he? Wonder if he is lining up punditry as a back up in case he knows his career gets cut early
