carragher looooooooool

The geezer literally referred to Archie Gray as "young Gray". If you think he was ever going to blame the English "Young Gray" over the foreign goalkeeper that is already getting pelters in the media then you're on another planet.

The fact that we are even discussing this is quite staggering. Put Richi or Johnson in that same scenario and it wouldnt even be a question FFS. Of course Gray was at fault, wtf are we doing here.

Utter fucking nonsense with all respect.

Oh my god mate. Again you are missing the point. You are showing a clip of Palhinha making a left footed pass out to the left. Do you understand how body positioning works?

Gray would have had to make a left footed pass out to the right back area. So he would have had to use the outside of his weakest foot? You just don't see passes like that in that position.

That you so easily dismiss a footballer being forced to use their weakest foot is laughable.

Carragher quite clearly pointed out what happened and why this was Vicario's fuck up. Bury the head in the sand all you want, you are wrong :)

'Body positioning' 😆

Tell me what was so impossible for Gray to pop it off first time with his 'body position'

THIS IS NOT A DIFFICULT SKILL LMAO

Mate the fact that you think a pro footballer who plays at the top level is unable to use their weaker foot is quite frankly laughable, probably best to agree to disagree

This place is utterly mental

I'm generally a defender of Vic but it's a shame we didn't just shell out a bit extra for Raya.

IIRC Brentford wanted 40m and we wanted to pay more like 20-25m. For once in our lives we were decisive and went straight for the plan B, but as per usual a case of buying cheap has cost us in the long run. I imagine we could've got him for around 30-35 and sorted out that spot for the best part of a decade.

Plus he's homegrown and would've saved us all these squad headaches.

Que sera sera...

Just classic Levy.

Raya was keen to come too, I remember Matt Law saying it when we were first linked to him and he expected it to happen. As per usual with Levy he went for the cheaper deal. The scum were clever, got him on loan and then paid later.

Because to play it with his right he would have had let the ball run across his body, which is absolutely suicidal in that position when facing your own box being pressed.

To control the ball and shield it, he'd have to take a touch with his left, and then pass out to Romero with his right. Carragher quite clearly explains all this in the video.

Either you haven't watched it, or you just can't understand.

You are right, this place is fucking mental that some can't get it.

Good Lord ok mate :mourweird:

Exactly. Carragher is an ex pro, when he tells people that receiving the ball on your weakest foot forced Gray into having to take a touch, because otherwise the alternative is trying to make an outside of the boot pass using his left foot, which is risky and extremely liable to go wrong, they should listen.

He hasn't got a vendetta against Vicario like some people are accusing us of in here. He's just calling out Vicario for what he is, a fucking clown.
i dont think they understand the angle that gray was given with the pass, football is all about angles when it comes to passing, especially playing the ball first time. not to mention the fucking ball is bobbling along cos the donkey in goal cant even make a 7 yard pass crisp along the floor.

if you get given a bobbling pass like that, a lot of your concentration is forced onto the ball to make sure you get the right touch to get it under control, if the ball is passed cleanly you dont have to worry so much as the ball is true to the floor.

if anyone has watched the video carragher has done on it and still doesnt understand then theres no point debating anymore, its been put in as simple terms as you can get it with video and even a demonstration of him showing why it needs to be on his right foot, and you have people in here saying they played pro and would of toe poked it out for a corner looool! toe poking a bouncing ball out for a corner with your left, looking like a right donkey

grays only option with the shit vicario gave him was to touch it back inside to he gets his body between the forest player and the ball, hes touched out that way as he intends to go to romero, if gray has got a man on call then he defo shoulders some of the blame too, but that call needs to come as soon as it leaves vicarios foot to give him a split second to react, i doubt that clown in goal gave him that.

fair play to the forest player, hes seen vicario about to go short and smelt blood! and blood he got! a shit bobbling ball putting a team mate in trouble in a position they dont want to be in.

No classic Spurs

Raya £40milliin
Vicario £25million
Sommer £6million never was an option despite being one of the World's top keepers for the previous 13 years

you've cherry picked a frame that makes it look easier than it was. why not grab the frame when he takes the touch?

You mean you want me to take grab the frame after he takes a bad touch and loses the ball?

I'm not entirely sure how that aids your argument?

Besides that frame is there to tell you who the easy pass was and that was our no17 who was free standing by himself...

Played it to Palhinha's weaker foot here, guess what he did here...

It's not that difficult skill to play a first time pass, you're acting as if you're asking for something which is impossible for a competent player to do, the fact that you're going on about his 'weaker foot' is hilarious - the guy is a professional footballer for God's sake, he's not a child.
if you can't see this is a much easier scenario i've got nothing else to say. is this your new hill to die on? feeling that fire from the ange end days again?

the press is tighter across the back when he touches the ball. and that's the larger point here. this was not the moment to play out of the back like we did. they had us covered across the back unlike all the clips you posted and it's vic's responsibility to see that and decide what to do.
