Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm generally a defender of Vic but it's a shame we didn't just shell out a bit extra for Raya.

IIRC Brentford wanted 40m and we wanted to pay more like 20-25m. For once in our lives we were decisive and went straight for the plan B, but as per usual a case of buying cheap has cost us in the long run. I imagine we could've got him for around 30-35 and sorted out that spot for the best part of a decade.

Plus he's homegrown and would've saved us all these squad headaches.

Daniel is travelling tonight on a plane…

… Oh god it looks like Daniel!

There's a benefit to HG, but this aspect is overstated a little for us.

Whilst we're not overflowing with HG players, we do still have 4 to name in Euro squads, so any more just take up a spot in the 17 "other" slots.

Where we are distinctly lacking, is HG Club Trained players. Raya would do nothing to solve this, and short of re-signing Kane, Cirkin, Walker-Peters, Skipp, or Winks, the only thing that's going to solve it is time. Eventually Bergval and Gray will count as CT so that's a positive if they become what we hope they will, Vuskovic may or may not, depends if this loan counts as time at Spurs or not, some seem to believe it does, I'm not convinced.

And then there are Moore, LWB coming through the Academy too to hopefully see us set for the future.

It's crazy that he isn't one of the first out the door. He costs us goals every week. It's insane to have a keeper who actually costs you goals.

If we don't upgrade on him urgently, we will continue to be a joke of a side.

If he is still starting for us next season, it will tell us all about the ambition and actual competency of the club.

He needs to be replaced ASAP, he is a fucking idiot.
You drop someone like Pope or Henderson in this side you'd instantly see an improvement in our defensive play. I think it's really important for the defenders to have a commanding keeper you can rely on that doesn't fuck up every week. I feel like it's become lost nowadays due to keepers needing to be Like Pirlo on the ball with all this playing out bollocks.

Lol blaming Vic for the first goal

You've had a mare here mate.

As Carragher's analysis shows, it was 90% on Vicario.

He's a fucking horrendous keeper. Plays a bobbling dangerous pass into midfield on to his left foot, Archie Gray was basically screwed over.

And then what does Vicario do? He throws a strop at young Archie.

Vicario is a horrible horrible cunt and I don't used that word lightly.

Read the rest of my posts, it's on Grey, we play that ball literally every match this season and other players are able to deal with it with a first time layoff - Grey took a touch and miscontrolled the ball when he literally had the option of a first time pass to Romero.

I think Vic is massively flawed and actually at fault for the 2nd goal (his footwork was horrendous) but blaming him for the first goal is just a fundamental misunderstanding of a basic rehearsed move we pull off in every match.

The thing is you're conflating your dislike for the keeper with what happened for this goal - you need to park the agenda and be a bit more objective.

The problem is, if we bought Henderson and Pope the fans would be up in arms. We prefer to spend 60m on players who might work out (so we only have to pay 100k a week rather than 200k a week) rather than 10m on a player who might lack technique and do not have particular high ceiling, but we know exactly where the floor is and they would give 100% every game and demand it of others.

Our perceived rivals spend 60m on player and 40m on their wages
We spend 60m on player and 20m on wages
We would be better off spending 10m on player and 30m on wages

I'm reaching the point of being properly fed up of the bloke now, he can go on a little streak of good form and I'll kind of forget but no matter how long it lasts he'll eventually drop a clanger and then flap his arms about shouting at someone in front of him that isn't Romero and I'll be straight back to thinking "oh fuck off you twat".

Why on Earth he is considered part of our stupid little "leadership group" I can't fathom, how are any of the squad supposed to have any respect for him? He doesn't lead by example in terms of performance, he's not beyond reproach as a character, he takes responsibility for nothing, he's hardly vastly experienced, just wtf does he bring in terms of leadership???

Did you watch Carragher's video? Gray had to take a touch as the ball was played onto his weaker foot. You can't play a ball out to romero using the outside of your weaker foot in that position, it's impossible/ crazy. He has to take a touch.

If Vicario had played it onto Gray's right foot, he'd have been able to sweep it first time to Romero. This is really obvious stuff, and it shows why Vicario is so inept at so many aspects of the game. Not to mention the pass was made by Vicario's weaker left foot, and it was BOBBLING.

If it's something we do all the time, can you show me some examples of our CMs passing out to the right whilst being pressed using their weaker left foot outside of the foot? I'm not trying to catch you out, I just think it doesn't happen. Carragher is spot on.

I honestly think this goal is an example of everything wrong with the dressing room at the moment. We have a keeper who for some reason is considered one of the leadership group, who thinks he is better than he is, who continually makes mistakes and costs us goals, and then berates other young members of the team.

I genuinely think we have a serious issue with the attitude in the dressing room, and from what I have seen, Vicario is at the heart of a lot of it. Porro too, who scapegoated Archie in his post match interview and didn't mention Vicario at all.

I genuinely want Vicario gone before anyone else in the squad right now. And Porro can fuck off too. So overrated by the fanbase it's a joke. A bang average player.

Yeah I watched it I don't agree TBH...Listen Vicario's ball isn't the best but I'd expect any professional footballer to be able to pop it off with either foot, it's so simple. If Gray can't do a first time pass with his weaker foot to a man in space then he shouldn't be a pro footballer.

Vic's played the same pass countless times to other players this season and they've popped it off first time.

He isn't AFAIK.

He had some great games when he first signed, off the back of playing regularly.

People judge keepers too harshly when they play one first team game in a blue moon. They need a decent run.

Mate the guy can't catch the football, he is horrendous and a practical hologram in goal - some players don't need a run in the team, you either have the ability or you don't, it's not about confidence rither if you can't do the basics then you're not up to it.

He's isn't anywhere near ready yet.

Porro, like many before him and after him, had a load of potential when joining this club. Whilst here he has utterly stagnated, the parts of his game that needed work remain sub-standard, and those that he excelled at have become run of the mill. His elite crossing isn't exactly a regular occurrence any more, he's almost as bad as Harry Kane at free-kicks now despite being pretty handy at them before.

We are a fucking graveyard for promising players, if we're being honest does anybody see anything from Bergval and Gray that hadn't already been on display before joining and at the beginning? They're still young enough that you feel in time they could become really good, but they aren't any better than they were this time last year. Same for Sarr, some promising moments here and there but ultimately he's nowhere near being a decent overall player.

Odobert, looks to have regressed from his PL season at WBA.

Tel, highly sought after from Munich, looks a shell of a player now.

Spence, looked best in his first few appearances last season.

Udogie, looks worse than when he first started for us.

Johnson, I'm not even gonna bother.

We'll ruin Vuskovic next season, absolutely nailed on.

What the hell happens at our training ground???

I don't have footage to prove it, but Bentancur (despite all of his faults and poor performances etc) has played plenty of first time balls from the keeper to our RB area in exactly that position, whilst being pressed, some of the passes to him being less crisp than others. It wasn't the greatest ball by Vicario, we all know that, but I suspect many are trying to pin most of the blame on him primarily because they hate him. I don't care what Carragher said, he's a twat who says as many stupid things as he says sensible things, many other people have watched it many times and concluded that it is 90% on Gray. It happens, he fucked up, hopefully it will soon be forgotten and he will be an absolute monster for us in time, but on that occasion, Gray fucked up way more than anyone else involved.
