Unless a mini injury crisis takes a few key players out to make us completely unable to pick any points where a relegation battle becomes a genuine possibility, he's very likely to finish the season actually. With how congested the table is where we're still 4 points off 5th somehow, even something like a 3 game win streak would see us leapfrog almost half of the league while completely changing the narrative about Frank. It's infinitely easier to cling on to these hopes than to change the manager mid-season.
Wouldn't it be a daunting task with this nothing football we're playing? Yes, but even mediocre teams can go through these purple patches where all the stars align. We won 3 in a row this February in the midst of a historically bad season. A team like Wolves, virtually this year's historically bad team plus Cunha and Ait Nouri, managed to win 6 in a row. Happens.
As for the season, we'll probably be like United in terms of epitomising the mid-table mediocrity where winning the every other or the every third game gets celebrated as the manager finally turning the corner. Similar to them, we under Frank could finish this season 10th or 11th with a record of 12-13-13 and a GD of 0 or something. Wouldn't get more mediocre than that.
Would of course be a big cause for optimism because we finished 17th, and Arteta also finished 8th in his first season or whatever.
