And this is what hurt Levy and his plan... he figured that the sustainability rules would mean Spurs would be in a strong position like United, Woolwich and Liverpool. But he didn't bank on the Chavs and then obviously City and now Newcastle being financially doped. It will be interesting to see how Chavs and City fair when the respective cases against them are finally settled. My assumption is both will get off with a big fine, a transfer window or two where they can't sign anyone and maybe a suspended points sentence. Either way, both will appeal. It will be at least 10 more years before it's settled by which time the PL will split into PL1 (the big revenue generating clubs) and PL2 (the Palace, Fulham, Bournemouth's of the world).
Out of interest, as I can't be bothered to research it, I'm wondering if - outside of Leicester - any other team has finished 2nd or 3rd in that era.
Not that it's an achievement (worra trophy) but I don't feel like anyone outside of the money City/Chelsea and typical Utd/Woolwich/Liverpool have.
I think what makes me feel less 'aggrieved' about it is that it's not like there are other clubs like Everton/Villa/Newcastle winning titles and us being an anomaly
