By the way, Johnson has fallen out of favour with Frank not because he lacks flair. It's because he lacks physicality.

Frank is going to double down on his version of Bordalasball where games are huge wrestling contests, and only bulky wingers like Kudus could survive in them. Odobert could also be out of the door soon for the same reason.

I'm reasonably confident that not only a potential replacement for Johnson, but also the other signings of ours this January will reflect this.

I hope Frank isn’t with us for too long, regardless of any short-term changes.

I want a football team that is relatively pleasing on the eye and who take the game to the opponent as a result of precision passing.

If we become a clogging, punt it forward, fight and hope for it team, then this is one poster who will watch from afar.

The teenager that Red Bull wants £100 mill for ???

Excellent engagement farming from Sami 😂😂😂

We’re clearly interested in the boy, too many good sources have us looking at him for there not to be some truth in it. And I don’t see us paying £100m for a guy that’s played half a season of top level football, so we must feel we can get that price down.

I reckon they might be tempted to sell if they get £55/60m on the table for him. They’ll know he doesn’t have a body of work behind him to demand £100m, and his form could well fall off a cliff. They’ll back themselves to replace him no bother as well.

This

The hole crowd won’t stand for it either, unless we are top (which we won’t be)

Of course it can be fast if the club agree a fee and the player's representatives negotiate a contract.

Then it's just about a medical and a signature.

I say that with zero knowledge of this Diomande as opposed to how such a deal can be pursused and all but completed in absentia.

Can you do a medical during AFCON ?

Surely it would be pointless doing it before Cote d’Voire get knocked out?

The owners are in an awkward position because they've spoken about making money available but do the want to back what they consider to be a lame duck?

Surely they will consider Johnson scored enough last season, he did well at Forest, now Villa and Palace have both shown interest, Kudus isn't really pulling up any trees. If Johnson is sold it's because he's not in Frank's plans and the owners and chiefs aren't thinking beyond Frank, because Glasner has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Frank and Palace are interested in Johnson.
Johnson is an average plyer, if even that. If a manager likes Johnson, then the problem is with the manager. We should have better options in our squad than Brennan fucking Johnson.

He played at Leganes last season I think.

Winning is all that matters, style of play is a bonus. How we get there I don't know, how we win it I don't care.

Does johnson affect our home grown matters.

Not particularly bothered but does that now mean its likely the replacement will be homegrown or do we still have movement for this

Just thinking of top of my head no maddison solanke now potentionaly johnson for champs league squad

Johnson going is not an immediate disaster from an HG in CL squad point of view, but we then need to see Solanke as HG in the CL squad to be named on 1 February, along with Spence, Gray and potentially Davies to fill our 4 HG slots - consensus seems to be Maddison not back until April/May or even next preseason

So that may mean we need to pencil acquiring an HG player to be bought in the summer or we use more of our Spurs youth next season (eg Donley, Devine and/or the younger ones such as LWB/T Thompson, Byfield) to bulk out the squad as these will not take up squad places needed for other players. But both Gray and Bergvall will be classified as List B players next season which also helps out our squad size.

Sure, I'm not being supportive of Johnson I'm just making the point if Glasner is being considered as a possible replacement for Frank, should Frank be sacked, he wants to sign Johnson.

Therefore it could lead a person to think the club aren't making plans beyond Frank at the moment.

When we are desperate as we have become I agree, but I got infinitely more joy when we were winning under Pochettino (and that team for 2/3 years), than I got watching us win under Mourinho and Conte. Same outcome, entirely different sense of elation..

So yes, when we are in the eye of fear or a final but not as a routine. I want a bit more than just to win. Why else are we Spurs fans?
