Legend Martin Chivers Rest in Peace.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Our strikers we have now couldn't laces his boots.
Let's not use this as a vehicle to have a pop at the current players hey?

Rest in Peace MC. An absolute Gentleman.

I've told the story in here about how we met him and Greavsie at the Brookmans Park Hotel. Both treated my old man and a very young me to some cracking stories that I'll never forget as long as I live.

Forever a Spurs Legend.

Possibly best centre forward in Europe for 2-3 years in early 70s. Remember seeing him score twice away to Leeds in 1972 in a 2-1 win over the best team in the country. We played in an amber shirt that day.
Most memorable goal has to be that 30yd rocket away to Wolves in uefa cup final first leg.

Lucky to have met him quite a few times over the years, always seemed genuinely nice and quite funny too.

Thanks for everything Big Chiv.

Notice our club haven’t even put this news on the landing page as a headline. Cretins.

RIP , 4th highest scorer for the club back in the days when football was a proper working man’s contact game! Sad to see one of the legends of Spurs passing however he will forever be part of our history and his name will never be forgotten, a bit before my time as a player however an absolute legend for the Club!
Anyone lucky enough to see him play?
Yes.

Proper Centre Forward, but not just a battering ram. He had skill and guile aplenty.

I've shed a few, the first sad Spurs ones sice Sir Bill.

It's hard, losing these icons. They (and others like them) made us Tottenham, it's impossible to put into words what we owe them.

I had the pleasure as a 16 year old lad of meeting this legend after a game at Leicester

Signed my autograph book and a brief chat before ruffling my hair and walking off to the coach!

I was suitably awe struck!

RIP big man you are a legend!

Yes, I saw him a few times, IIRC we paid a record £125,000 for him, and he broke his leg quite early in his Spurs career. He had a tumultuous relationship with Bill Nick, but they ended up very close, with Chiv escorting Bill onto the pitch before his testimonial.
I met him on a couple of occasions, a gentle giant of a man, friendly but quite forthright, no bad thing these days.
I hope the Club have a fitting tribute ready for him.
