Hotel and surrounding investments are all owned by the club. I'm not going to defend their building, but they're revenue producers which can theoretically feed money into the club. Football is about money now, and keeping up with clubs owned by oil states takes resources.

Tottenham is trying to produce diversified revenue streams to attempt it. Aston Villa has decided they'll just go bankrupt. Their strategy is more enjoyable for supporters now - but who knows if they'll have a club to support in 10 years. Wage budgets of 90%+ turnover are incredibly reckless.

Watching the match. I won't give anything away. Have a safe flight.

I don’t know if it’s just an attempt at being contrary or plain ignorance but we are in a much worse state since the focus switched to infrastructure, to an entertainment complex

If you can’t admit that then there’s no real point in talking really . We have regressed hugely

We disagree on the source of our current state.

We're not shit because we built a £1B stadium, the training ground, and hotel.

We're shit because we've scouted very, very poorly wasting the significant sums of money we've spent on players, and have strung together several very poor managerial appointments.

We spend multiples of what we did pre-stadium, and spend at rates much closer to the league leaders. But we're not successful because the we sign the wrong players and hire the wrong managers.

We are shit because football is no longer the priority of TH Ltd

Yes we’ve spent but look at the wages these £60m players are on , it’s really not that difficult to understand . Theres next to no ambition, we have other revenues now

You’re kidding yourself but as long as you’re happy

They have to sell. They’ve run their course, and potential targets refuse to come to us just because of them. We need new owners with a clear record, who are willing to splash the cash in order to make us an attractive destination again.

I never said I was happy. I said you're blaming it on, and complaining about, the wrong things. Your problem is you think anyone who doesn't agree with you is happy with how things are.

People often get too hung up on the wrong things.

Should we spend more on wages? Yes, the ratio is, and has been, too low.

But in the past 10 years we've never had lower than the 6th highest wage bill in the league. So you can't say we're 14th because we don't spend enough on wages. There's 8 clubs who are doing better than we are with less money invested.

We're shit because we're squandering the money we do invest in poorly scouted players and hiring the wrong managers time and again.

You do know this is the ENIC thread ?

Mismanagement, apathy & downright incompetence

Didn’t they say the stadium was a game changer , didn’t they take money out of the club for the hotel , which has now ground to a halt

Besides how organized Villa looked, how fit, and how confident, did you see that corner move Emery did positioning 3 of his players at the half line when we had a corner?

Never seen a thing like that. I LOVE when my manager innovates, and produces new things.

Emery is bigger than Aston Villa, and their ownership is allowing him to pull them up with him.

Our ownership, regardless if we hire a manager below us or above us, they ALWAYS drag the whole thing down. Let it be Frank/Ange/Nuno Santo, or Conte/Poch/Harry/Mourinho.

SELL THE CLUB YOU LOSERS!!!!!!!

After arguing for over 5 years with the ENIC & levy lovers. I hold my hands up & admit you guys were right. I apologise!
Another wonderful season in the offing! Just how you all saw it going. All those times emotionally saying why we need levy & ENIC are all vindicated.
Shame we lost levy but fingers crossed we cling on to ENIC for the rest of this century!

Honestly the ENIC fans will keep blaming the coach until their dying day.

They are so suit at spending. And even there big signings are your solankes & Simmons types. Not top players. One had one good season at Bournemouth & the other I think was a sub a lot.
