Player Archie Gray

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

he is a real issue for us , it’s like playing with a mannequin in midfield . The experiment is done , he needs to go out and loan and learn how to play at this level cos he is miles off it . I’m still trying to understand what he is good at.

If you look at how clean Gray's shirt was when he came off compared to Palhinha's or Simon's you can see that he never got stuck in.

This is Archie Gray's stats for the season

He is (when compared to other midfielder)
10% percentile in assisted goals
1% expected assisted goals
5% in shots
33% in non penalty goals
1% in shot creating chances
2% in progressive passes
2% in tackles won
27% in aerials won

The only stat he is good at is clearances 97%

He is literally a nothing player. Offers absolutely nothing and gets away with it because he's young and English. We could pick a random 16 year old youth player and he would probably offer the same if not more.

If we ever want to improve we simply can't have passengers. We have to be cut throat and loaning him out next season is the best option.

I wonder if people understand how bad those stats are

His profile and physical attributes are actually almost identical to Dendoncker, except way worse. And he was canned by Villa for a team in a semi pro league.

None of this suprises me.

This was Levy again in my opinion.

A sprat to catch a mackerel.

Levy wanted his younger brother, the striker, on a hostage deal.

So, we pay £40m for Archie (who we don’t want) so that we can pay another £40m for Harry down the road?
Wouldn’t it be better just to pay £79m for Harry and save a million?

Or is this a Gray Sale — Buy one and get one free?

I can almost understand it if we invested a small amount in Archie, but, dude , some of your conspiracy theories are truly absurd.

Nothing player ( so far).
Not a PL player.
Reminds me of all the previous over hyped home grown midfielder we have had.
No real attributes
Yeah, there is a bit of the Winks and Skipp about him. We'd all like to think better than that, though remember Winks was in the England team and played well for a brief period. Skipp for a period was a superb tackler, and in many people's eyes a future Spurs captain.

Give him another season when hopefully we are doing a bit better. And he's that much older. Hopefully he raises his game. Otherwise, sell.

Think Winks showed more at the same age. Hopefully Gray overtakes him but I’m not convinced

Why is that our go to though? Why can't he learn it here?

You can say that there's too much pressure here for us to give him that time, but look at the facts, he is playing here, he has had plenty of minutes.

Why should those minutes spent elsewhere be any more beneficial to his development?

This is a Spurs problem, not an Archie Gray problem. Something needs to be rectified about this club because it's not just Archie Gray, everyone we sign looked better elsewhere than they do here!
