I'd take 80. He's pants in the air for a lad that's 6 4 and quite his attitude leaves a decent bit to be desired
I'm all for shifting the value from CB to the forward line.
We've seen where being bottom-heavy gets you.

Think you can get plenty of good CBs at the 40-50m range but it's 60-80m for forwards. In Vuskovic we already have the most promising CB in world football.

But again it comes down to a lack of faith in our recruitment team.

Our cbs are very highly rated but ultimately we still concede loads under a defense first coach. I'm with you, sell and shift some of that cash forward

I'm firmly of the belief that VDV could be the best defender in the world, and I'm not one for ridiculous hyperbole concerning our own players. If we sell him willingly, without him forcing the move, then we have failed. Massively.

Surprised folk here are so comfortable with that idea, but he'll go, for sure, unless a dramatic turnaround ensues

I'd be far more interested in moving VDV to LB than selling him. I think he's great - but what he does best is possibly maximized in other position(s).

Happy to sell Romero, I don't think my opinion that he's overrated has ever been a secret. Bring back Vuskovic to replace him in the squad. Keep Danso and Dragusin. Sign or promote a 4th CB.

Use the Romero proceeds to further improve the midfield or buy a CF.

The fact we keep getting linked to CBs despite having about 500 does suggest this might be in the club/manager's thinking too.

Simply don't see why we'd keep buying CBs unless the plan is to start (at least occasionally) playing VdV at LB. And/or we think Vuskovic needs another season on loan so need additional cover.

Hard to see the club selling Romero in the summer given he's captain and extended his deal, but suppose it's not beyond the realms if we get a good offer.

Fucking nuts!! He’s our best player and gives a fuck. Folk getting pissed off because he argued with fans because he’s frustrated as fuck at how things are going. He’s been our most consistent player all season. His attitude is spot on every game he plays. He’s irreplaceable. We’d have lost more games if it wasn’t for his last ditch tackles or recovery runs.
How we can have a support that is not happy with letting someone like Johnson go but wouldn’t happy to sell Micky!! Brain dead.

One to watch is badshielle from leipzig 6 foot 5 giant great passer from defence left footed

May of spelt his name wrong only 20 right if vdv goes he is one to look at someone correct the spelling if i got it wrong

I was very happy with letting Johnson go you muppet

Range of passing isn't good enough to be genuinely world class IMO, pace is his thing and he's the best in the world at it.

If you actually look at his stats on the ball he's gotten worse tbh. Not saying I want him to go like, but wouldn't be that bothered after him acting all Billy Big Bollocks the other night and diving.

I think he's starting to believe his own hype a bit.

I wasn’t talking about you ya muppet but a lot of our supporters in general.
Fair enough but I don't think most of the fanbase would be happy with letting vdv go at all so the point is pretty redundant

From where I'm sitting both our cbs are overrated. Both are elite at certain eye-catching things (vdv and his pace/running, romero with his passing and aggression) but both are either average or worse at defending in the box. Hence why, despite these 2 supposedly excellent centre backs, 2 sixes in front and a defense first coward of a manager under whom we barely have any shots, we still concede loads of goals

In vdvs case there is a history of hamstring problems and we also have a highly rated young lad waiting to come in the summer. If we can get big money and reinvest in a real quality left winger / cdm we'd improve a lot imo
