Couldn't agree with you more. Like I posted earlier, Wharton is still just 21, so years away from his prime with a lot of learning and maturing still to do.It is but that was my point. Modric when he first came sometimes was in the wrong place, you watched him towards the end with us and he was always in the right place making it hard for the opposition to play through. Carrick had the same thing, at United he massively improved his positioning in front of the backline. I remember have conversations with United fans at the time and they said he improved so much in his time at the club. Wharton isn’t bad defensively but he isn’t elite but he will improve over time but he is already amazing on the ball. He would be a great but very expensive signing IMO. The issue with his defensive positioning Modric and Carrick got better so why not Wharton.
My preference is still Anderson, but I'd be made up if we got Wharton instead.
