Apparently players have 5 days off

Gives time for some R&R I guess, and the club time to get their shit together

Still 11 days to the next game...
Not saying you're wrong but a team struggling at the wrong end of the table, that earned the right to have a weekend off by letting Villa tickle their belly's should be on the training pitch getting their act together... even if a senior player takes training... 5 days off, for me, thats a joke and symbolic of this club.

Biggest takeaway from this is that the board panicked and sacked him and have no idea what to do for a replacement. They don't even know if they want to appoint a permanent or interim manager.
I think it's pretty clear that they were hoping to limp to summer and get in Poch.
This whole debacle just again shows everyone our owners have no plans other than a few phrases on a power point presentation headlined "5 year plan"

We have called for this and the shame/indictment is that it took so long to make one of most obvious decisions ever.

The key for whoever comes in is to see past any doom that may arrive after the next 2 games.

Then we need to be absolutely ready, with emphasis, drive, and belief.

For now, we can breathe.

I think the players will be relieved and will all want to prove some points and gain some in the process!!

Who is actually coaching the team at the moment. Who is accountable? There is no interim... again it's another example of the shit shoe that is our board. Nearly every managerial sacking is accompanied with a x will take over first team duties while we search for an interim. But no us. I bet we haven't even worked on plan B. It all smacks of total incompetence. Maybe I'm just being harsh but new man will need every hour available to him but you watch meander towards an appointment.

As far as has been communicated, the only person that has gone is Frank.

If he can leave Brentford and no chaos ensues, I'm sure his coaching staff will be on autopilot with Heitinga on autopilot for now

Not that Im of the mind to defend the club too much right now - if I were being sympathetic Id say considering our injury woes, it might be wise to let the players rest up and recover while we have the opportunity

And, also, let them shake off Frankball

I think we can rule Mason out.

With Levy gone, that tie to Mason isn't really there now. We all know he was Levy's inside man.

And I would be gobsmacked if the board entrusted our PL survival to a rookie coach like that.

The more I think about it, the more I think they'll go for an established coach.

The big dilemma for them right now is, do they take the risk on an interim until the summer to get Poch, but then risk we get relegated.

Or do they appoint the best possible manager they can right now? say a De Zerbi, but then that means no Poch in the summer.

It's a really fucked up situation.

I know its not ideal, but I genuinely think the board need to park the Poch dream. The most important thing is we make it through to the summer as a PL side. And if that means losing Poch so be it. It's not like Poch is guaranteed to to be a success the second time anyway.

Maybe Robbie Keane as an interim, Poch in the summer would be best. But would Keane leave a perm job to come here for 4 months. I can't see it. And even Keane could be a risk. I guess any manager is a risk.

I think even with Frank gone, I only give us a 50/50 chance of staying up now, looking at the state of our injuries and form.

Biggest take away for me is Arry saying he'd take it. Didn't think that was in any way feasible. We just need our identity back and someone that gets it, will get the players feeling good, with back to basics football. Would be perfect.

If not, just give it to Heitinga before the inevitable, last ditch PR stunt, Pochettino rehire
