De Zerbi would be just another in a line of 'nothing special, no track record' mediocre and uninspiring appointments. And since that's what we now specialise in, and he's available, he must be nailed on for the job.

I think the issue with de Zerbi is that he does have something about him, but its never translated into much yet in his career

Feels to me like he's at a bit of a tipping point

From here he can just be set in his ways, carry on the same cycle, and basically drift out of the spotlight

OR

Find the right club/right time and really step up and do something special

Us being Spurs, we will of course hope for the latter but get the former :franklol: :frankfacepalm:

That'll never happen. I doubt any board in any top league would be stupid enough to hire him. He's just too tactically inept, and refuses to change. Any person, without an emotional attachment, can see that.

Are You Sure Joe Pesci GIF by Chris Cimino

We are not known for our clever decisions.

Out having my long arse morning run this morning and, while having that sinking feeling they'd be dumb enough to get Ange back, I also thought.......would Klopp do it for 12 games?
He's been out of work for 18+ months now and looks refreshed.

What player in that dressing room wouldn't respect him?

Not sure why people are sure it won't be De Zerbi, because I have no doubt that they are talking to him. The main stumbling block in my hypothetical world is not how they manage him, it's how they give the impression they're happy to go permanent, despite having every intention of hiring poch in the summer - because I'm pretty sure that's been their plan for some time

We don’t need a coach. We need a dictator.

Let’s be honest:
This squad
just humiliated the manager.
Arrogance, leaks, attitude problems.
That’s not a tactical issue.
That’s a discipline collapse.
So please stop talking about “progressive football” and “projects”.
This dressing room doesn’t need another nice guy.
It needs fear. Authority. Consequences.

Considering Ange's latest comments about not getting the players he wanted, it's unlikely De Zerbi is gonna put up with that

Would be a grenade waiting to blow and will be another PR disaster for these hapless owners

It absolutely needs a figurehead. Someone that will transfer list players if they keep turning up late etc. It really limits the choices. Having said that i'd sell most of these players because they are rotten. A complete disgrace. Should have done it last summer, have to this year. Keep most of the youngsters and a couple of senior bods and bin the rest. Complete clean slate.

but talking about listing players, the overhaul and recruitment is all moot - we need someone to keep us up. We can't lose sight of how much trouble we are in. We have 11 fit first team players, no width whatsoever, a rejuvenated West Ham, a Forest who had they won last night would have the same 6 game form as Woolwich and City. We are deeply, and massively in the shit. I honestly couldn't care less about what happens with any of these players or staff from next season, I just want us to concentrate on staying up

Players are wankers. That's why I have 21 on my feck off list for various reasons, some no fault of their, like not being govern a chance, many because cunts.

Anyone seen the Ange Overlap thing today?

He basically vindicates everything that certain posters (including myself) have been saying on here for the last 10 years. About ENIC saying that they want to compete for the big things but then in reality not backing it with their actions. Not being willing to bring in top players on top wages. He stops short of saying the obvious that they are basically lying to the fans for bums on seats and its a club that wants to present the illusion of ambition. But he says it without saying it. Its actually a very classy interview.

He tells you the kind of players he asked for to kick on after finishing 5th in his first season; Mbeumo, Guehi, Semenyo, Neto(names a couple of other top players) and that instead he was given 3 kids and Solanke.

Whatever you think of Ange and the part he played in finishing 17th. Even if you think he is a cunt its well worth watching.

This is what we are dealing with here. Owners that want to pretend they are in it to win it to justify the prices they are charging but not backing it up.

I've been saying it ages, the club needs to level with their real ambitions. If they want to win the top prizes its obvious that the recruitment needs to reflect that. Or they need to level with the fans that the club has a ceiling of top 4 and the odd domestic club and lower the prices for entry accordingly.

I have this horrendous feeling, utterly sinking in the bottom of my stomach, that this idiot "new" board, might think they'd get the fans back on side by getting Ange back.
I have this horrible feeling that they're so detached from actual, real world football, that they think that winning a cup actually did prove he was a PL level cup.
Despite that cup win being against teams that aren't PL level. At all. Not even close.
Mate, they're not going to bring Ange back.

Sean Dyche should not be anywhere near a club like Tottenham Hotspur, and his name should never be in or near the head of any Tottenham Hotspur fan.

Not in the past. Not now. Not ever.

Jesus, man...What the actual fuck is happening
I agree.

My point is that those people who want poch and are happy to wait and get a temp manager are also sending us down a road that has a much higher possibility of getting relegated.

How many temp managers would keep us in The pl? Very few imo. Firstly u need someone with solid recent pl experience and also someone known for pitting out fires and crisis management because thats where we are.

Personally id just hire a full time manager and pick from the best rhats available or attainable right now.

The thing is he's never really going to talk himself down in this situation is he? [Ange]

Im sure a lot of what he says is true

And Im sure a lot is half true or omitting certain things...

So even though it feels like insider info, Im not sure how much real info it actually is

And its an hour or so of Gary Neville, not sur eI can volunrarily inflict that upon myself
