I think it's time for people to accept that while Matt Law obviously loves to misery write about us, he is evidently very well connected to the club.

Him being a cunt ≠ unreliable.
He's been well connected to the club for years but people dismiss him because his stories are usually negative.
He broke the Jose Mourinho appointment first amongst alot of other stories.

This is the kind of stuff which will lead to heads rolling more than the football. ENIC will be shitting themselves at the thought of losing actual money.
If we didn't already have too much spare cash to buy top quality players and pay top-4 wages, it's only going to get worse in a spiral that's been self-fulfilling. If you don't invest, you finish lower in the competitions and end up with less money to invest, and so on.

We've alway sold our best players and rarely bought any world class players (they may have become world class, but not many in their prime when we bought them).

The cost and magnitude of the new-ish stadium now looks bizarre when you see where we are as an actual football club.

For people who are meant to be successful business-people, they totally didn't understand that you can't just get by and hope to be in the top 4, without buying players that are top-4 quality.

Leads back to our wage cap.

Won’t pay the wages, don’t get elite players. Don’t get elite players, don’t compete and then we combine it with a run of bad managers and injuries and thus fighting relegation.

Lack of spending on wages has led to a net loss of money. The failure of austerity. Levy and ENIC never seemed to get their heads around the holistic nature of football and how being penny wise pound foolish bites you in the end.

We pay the 6th highest wages in the division for God's sake, if we cannot sustain consistent finishes on that wage bill it comes down to poor recruitment and an inconsistent strategy.

Wages thing has become too much of an excuse for underachievement.

Oh he's definitely on the .only with us, and whatever he says I take notice. Looking ridiculously bleak going forward. Hopefully it prompts a sale, because this gaggle of idiots has no clue what they're doing.

They are still a big part of the issue though. As Ange said we bought Solanke and 3 teenagers when the plan was something else, why do you think we did that? Our wages are very low for our revenue and status.

We certainly shouldn’t be in a relegation battle but we make it far easier when you combine a squad that easily could be better with a totally unsuitable manager plus an injury crisis. It’s sad all three combined but they didn’t have to.

That has nothing to do with wages though, thats just shit and lazy recruitment.

We only pay 'low' wages if we are looking at genuine superstars and difference makers, you don't need superstars to sustain a top 6 finish, just recruitment that makes sense.

I think the club are in for a huge shock, there's more post Levy fall out to come, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Guy practically ran the club by himself for 25 years, if they didn’t expect such a fallout then they are being massively naive.

The sponsor that’s ditching us hasn’t been announced yet right? Hoping it’s AIA so we can take solace in the silver lining of binning that fucking red sponsor off. The fact that they’re Asian-based and we lost Son adds up too. Wishful thinking probably.

Adds pressure to these dickheads too, which is always a good thing. Hopefully they’ll act in the club’s best interest, do the right thing (they won’t) and sell.

It has already been announced that the AIA deal has been extended, but that they won't be our shirt sponsor after the 26-27 season. They'll be on the training kits instead.

I should be fuming with this news, but I've been so livid at the way this board have been chancing running this club on a shoestring budget for years that it's glorious to see sponsors now telling them to fuck off because they basically ignored demands for us to get better. Have that ENIC you pricks!

Less sponsors mean less money to spend you know that right? :D

This is not good news my friend.

currently, why should any of us give a flying fuck if ENIC don’t have the same level of income from Football as they currently do?

If they had the same cash or more, history tells you it’s not going on the football team anyway.

And if they have less, what’s going to happen now ? We end up 18th / 17th /16th ? Why care. They don’t. Even without AIA / Cinch / whoever they still have enough cash to pay wages that should attract more than teenagers, but doing that is clearly not the aim.

What we care ( cared ) about is unfortunately feeling like it’s long since gone. We are not fans, but client Reference numbers. We are not competitive, but also rans.

It’s a bloody shame, but they killed us long ago, we all saw it happening. And what is left is not the Tottenham it should be.

I know that and said as much. But they have had this coming for years, might be what actually wakes them up now they know penny pinching is costing them big time.

I have 0 faith in the ENIC lot that they can turn this around and I am genuinely fearing how they're gonna handle this.

They could start by getting rid of Delboy and Rodney and getting some football people in the club to oversee things.

Couple of things about this strike me.first it feels like wistful think on the writers part. There would certainly be a financial hit if we went down, but them being unhappy with Ange's decisions to 'throw ' the league ( it does high light how fucking dumb a thing it was to openly claim mind) indicates a level of involvement with the football activities sponsors dont do. They just want good brand association.

BUT if you do take that seriously then its better news for the fans than Law seems to get as it hints at unhappiness with our ambitions both coaching and player acquisition wise that we fans share. It means we stay up we get a Pochettino,Naggelsman Xavi Hernandez, coaches and Oshimen Endrick Guler tier players. Sponsors come and go, that's not unusual and terms are renegotiate but what may simply be real is a feeling post Son Spurs have lost a bit of star power. Either way this might lead to more of what we want.

As much as I'd love to share your enthusiasm. I fear what's more likely is that we cheap out, because there's a track record of that.

I reckon they're more likely to sell up as opposed to actually seriously backing the team, whilst they're losing revenue streams. Which would be amazing.

Only an idiot would buy the club whilst relegation is a threat other than at a ridiculously low price. Nothing will happen before our future is decided. Survive and a sale is possible but reduced due to lack of European income or be relegated and gamble on getting back up first time or selling at a much lower price.

The only way I can see them selling is after we have survived in the PL.
