Really, it's impossible for anyone to predict what might happen to us if we go down.

To what could a club like Tottenham Hotspur going down be compared? It's completely uncharted territory. There is no precedent for anything like this in modern football.

The only things you can think of in modern times were Leeds going down after having just been in the CL recently, in the early 2000s. That resulted in their financial collapse.

Citeh of the 90s went down twice... they were not the club they are today, and the game was not the game of today, but they ended up in the third tier.

Would we spring right back up with our resources, or would there be a catastrophe? I don't think anyone could say.
Juventus got relegated, but not from results. That's the only one that comes close.

I think a fair few will go and it'll be a mixture of the shit prem players we have plus some youngsters actually getting a chance. I think something like this.

Austin
Spence phillips Davies souza

Gray Bentancur

Odobert Lwb Moore

Scarlett/Lankshear

Don't expect any loyalty from the players that have got us in to this mess.

I think something like the below. We will keep alot but Romero, VDV, Udogie, Porro, Vacario, Dragusin, Richarlison, Palhinha, Muani will be gone probably. Tha will raise around £200m, we will probably spend £50-100m to fill gaps and that will be that. Club will beg Pochettino to take the reign’s, if he does fine, of not it will be be some random who we will sack in 12 months when we fail to come back up.

Clubs entirely strategy will be to hope Poch agrees to take the job on.

Kinsky
Spence
Vuskovic
Danso
Byfield
Philips
Dorrington
Souza
Bergvall
Gray
Sarr
Bentancur
Moore
Maddison
Kulusevski
Gallagher
Xavi
Odobert
Kudus
Williams-Barnett
Tel
Solanke
Scarlett
Inwould welcome relegation for that squad under Poch, as long as we get 100M to spend and Lange and Vinai are gone

It will be an absolute cull.
1. The clubs revenue will pretty much half so wages which are currently 250m will need to come down to about 100m to have half a chance of meeting the football leagues PSR.
2. The club owes 300m in transfer fees. This has to be serviced even in the Championship... which means
3. Any player earning 50k or more will be sold or loaned. Any regular international will also be out the door.
4. Any young player on under 50k with ambition like Bergvall will be handing in transfer requests.

Possible candidates from current squad who might stay.

Davies
Kinsky
Austin
Gray
Byfield
Wilson
Melia

That is all.

Even Man United have been relegated, and it has happened to us before. City, Chelsea used to be a yoyo club up and down.

On the bright side DAZN Canada has both the Championship AND the Champions League. Right now I have to subscribe to Fubo and Dazn to get both.
Dolla dolla in my pocket!

The real hypothetical is, if we got relegated and won the Champo would you even celebrate it?
If it wasn't for the fact that relegation could cripple us and see us become another Leeds I wouldn't actually mind a season in the championship if we came straight back up. Challenging at the top (hopefully) and actually winning a few home games would make a nice change. I'd definitely celebrate if we won it.

I think the team, the board, the recruitment team and Thomas Frank have all done a great job of that.

It hasn't happened.

And quite frankly, I'm not the one who is panicking here.

It's not a question of panic.

Discussion about the ramifications of relegation is just my way of moving forward.

.............."Moving fwd" implies that it has already happened.

I think that’s a bit extreme. Gray himself is on over 50k.

Bergvall would stay. Danso, all of the loanees so Vuskovic, Moore, Takai, Yang, Scarlett, Lankshear. Souza too and Spence although I’d sell Spence regardless of where we end up.

In germany Schalke 04 and Hamburg in recent times.

Schalke had a modern stadium since early 2000s played european football regulary and won the german cup a few times. Also they were 4 minutes away from winning the league in 2001 I think.
Mismanagement on the highest scale always changing managers bad recruitment etc

And they were more than ok financialy they had a sponsorship by Gazprom and the most loyal supporters in germany.
It looks like they will be back in the Bundesliga next season.

There are a lot of examples like Schalke when you think about it and I am worried that we are heading in that direction. Even if we dont go down this season unless there are drastic fundamental changes in this club we could be fighting Relegation for a few seasons before finally going down.

The easiest solution would be a change of ownership of course but I really can't see that happening anytime soon.

In the summer lange vinai and a few others in the club who are responsible for our Situation need to go and we can't fuck up the next choice of manager. That’s before talking players...

It’s a painful rebuild

Vuskovic isn't coming back to play in the Championship.... I don't think he will ever play competitively for us
