Vuskovic isn't coming back to play in the Championship.... I don't think he will ever play competitively for us
He doesn’t exactly have a choice, does he? Hes on scraps for wages compared to the rest of the squad, is young and signed long term.

As another poster mentioned somewhere, unless Bayern drop 80 mil at our door, he doesn’t have much to stand on. We hold all of the leverage.

I think that’s a bit extreme. Gray himself is on over 50k.

Bergvall would stay. Danso, all of the loanees so Vuskovic, Moore, Takai, Yang, Scarlett, Lankshear. Souza too and Spence although I’d sell Spence regardless of where we end up.
I don't think it is... Villa sold/loaned 14 players from their first team when they were relegated. There is not a chance in hell that Bergvall or Vuskovic are playing Championship football and whilst I think Gray might stay I can see him being loaned to Leeds. Agree on Spence. He needs to go.

Ha......... I wonder if this is a message to our lazy bunch of players that they might get a pay rise if we avoid relegation.

"See..... We're good enough to have avoided a relegation all along.... Now give me a payrise"

What a shitshow indictment of the lack of accountability in modern football. :wall:

If we were to say those on my list stay, that would still mean that we sell/loan:

Romero
VdV
Kudus
Porro
Vicario
Udogie
Bentancur
Bissouma
Solanke
Richarlison
Kulusevski
Maddison
Gallagher
Xavi
Dragusin

And that doesn’t include Sarr who I forgot to mention, who I think would stay.

I know Bergvall and Vuskovic would want to be playing at a higher level but I don’t think they have much leverage at all. The only hope would be that a big club comes by to drop the bag, which is very possible with Vuskovic I suppose.

It's modern football mate. Players hold the power now. If we go down, we're going to be pretty powerless to stop anyone leaving.

In his case, he could make 15* his salary, compete for CL's and leagues. Or, he rots in the championship, despite being probably being the best CB in the Bundesliga this year. That's not feasible.

If Bayern come knocking and drop 80 mil on the table, he’s gone absolutely. But he’s on nothing for wages so if they insist on signing him at an extreme cut rate because we went down, we don’t have to sell to balance books. He can just sulk and take his 10k a week. It would be different if he was on 100k.

WTF have a bit of confidence. 11 matches to go and we have a 4 point lead. The last 7 after the international break should see several of our players back. We were in far worse positions in several of the 90's seasons. Close the thread at this time.
The players have absolutely no confidence so why should we? A four point lead isn't very comforting when only a couple of weeks ago it was 14. I can't get over telling people they should be feeling confident when we've fallen into this position and have only won at home twice all season. Twice. And not a single league win in the first two months of their calendar year.

And as for the 90s, we were bad often but at least the team had some fight about them. They're playing right now like they either don't care or have given up, or both.

Maybe Tudor can instill some spirit. We'll see.

No way the club goes that far. It’s far too risky, it would be a lot worse if we failed to come back up. They will no doubt hit the big value players like Romero, VDV, Udogie, Porro, Vicario who would be most wanting out plus not acting on Mauni or Palhinha. Get a huge wad of cash from it and hope they can come back up the following season.

Oh I agree with you, I was only listing them out because the quoted post mentioned Villa got rid of 14 players. I think we would keep more than many expect.

If we went down the squad would be unrecognisable to what it is today mostly due to wages , loss of income & having to comply with the EFL rules of a maximum of £15m allowed loss per season

We’d probably have to get rid of any of the potential stars in the U21’s too

Of course Tavistock could cover the holes but that’s about as likely as me getting a game

Touch wood he stays, but the Bayern stuff is concrete, the two parties are doing bits to get it done. Would be so Spurs to sell one of the best CB's in the world, and him not even make an appearance.

Yeah - we signed him for nothing in the grand scheme so I am not sure what the board would think is a successful sale price. But we still hold the leverage and will be within our rights to demand the number our braindead board deems appropriate.

More hot air and false promises from our ridiculous ENIC overlords.....
This is what I proposed in one of the other threads:
I think we'd see a lot more motivation from them if their contracts stipulated that they had to stay on a 75% wage reduction until either their contract ends or we win back promotion to the Premier League.
