Absolute fact that beating/getting points against Palace today or losing to them, neither guarantees safety or consigns us to that dreaded relegation.

There will still be 27 points to play for once the whistle blows tonight.

Nobody but nobody believe that we don't have better players than Leeds, or Palace, sloghtly , more arguably than West Ham and Forest.

It's now the time to prove it, but tonight is not the be all and end all. It’s just the next match.
If we lose tonight that will be 4 points from our last 11 matches - West Ham have 16 pts in their last 11.

This is the team that finished 17 last season. Losing has become habitual and when you watch us it's arguably even worse than the results. If we can't break the rot tonight and show some life (doesn't have to be 3 points but we can't lose and we need to see fight and spirit), then we will be going down.

A cause for concern is watching the players walk out on to the training pitch. Heads bowed. Trudging onto the pitch. They know this is all being broadcast on socials, yet the message being sent from them is that this is all a bit much. I'm not expecting them to be out there pissing themselves laughing, I do, however want to see some fight but so far all the optics say this is a group of players with no will.

I think the booing off the pitch they’ve received at home has given the senior players like VDV an excuse to already check out.

I really don’t think some of them give a flying f**k about us fans and seem to have zero professional pride.

The apparent mentality of this squad as a whole is the worst I’ve ever known it.
Yup. A lot of our players seem to think that relegation won't affect them. They probably imagine that they'll just get moves away. Ignoring the fact that this will be on their CVs just as much as the EL win will.

Jack Pitts-Brooke actually wrote about it recently in the Times.

Strange feeling these days. Feels like (along with Sheffield Wednesday) we are the only teams who can't win and don't even get close.

I'm getting jealous of any team that wins a game of football. I'm pinning my very thin hopes on injury returns and a last-gasp revival.

Very true. I hope (but doubt) last night was a wake-up call.

I mean, this will be BY FAR the biggest relegation story in English football in modern times ... certainly in the lifetimes of all the players currently playing professionally. They will be tainted big time.

The "25-26 Unmentionables"

That’s nice

Thanks for sharing
Called it ages ago. While the January transfer window was still open.
Johan "no stress buys here myopia" Lange , didn't believe it or seriously consider the possibility and brought in a totally unsuitable , woeful manager as well.
Dont think I've ever seen any sporting directors / DOF do such an appalling job and make so many mistakes in such a short space of time.
Complete fraud. Shameful and disgraceful that this has been allowed to carry on without consequences.

I'm sure its the most entertaining relegation battle in recent times for neutrals. We deserve to go down. West Ham and Forest show fight and togetherness, we show absolutely nothing. We totally deserve it. None this "we have no right being in a relegation battle" we fucking do because we are dog shit.

Igor Tudor should make every player read that

Can’t do anything about Lange until the season finishes.

He needs to be sacked but we need to stay up to attract a better successor.

Predictions aside, there is enough quality in this team to stay up, they just need to forget the noise, forget everything Frank did and play to their best level

I do agree mate, and I'm not seeking to gloss the turd that we have shown for far too long.

It does nonetheless renain a fact there will still be 27 points available, and with some important players due to return.

But we do probably need to avoid defeat tonight at all costs.

Tudor was brought in to do a job. Let's see hom doing just that. As I said when he arrived, with all his words. They nean nothing.

You could sack Lange now. What is he needed for that can't be done by someone else - even a temp or stand-in - right now? We can't really line up signings right now anyway.

If it were a game of Connect 4, we've won.

Class. Only thing that’s brought a smile to my face.

I wouldn’t tar the entire group with the same brush, but it wouldn’t come as a surprise if many of them find it very easy to just move on. Which in itself is why few, if any, of us have any confidence they’ve got the fight in them.

As I said in one of my other posts earlier, we needed the Board through the players to man the fuck up and act with responsibility for the crisis we’re in. The Board and executives are an absolute lost cause, and we have only the players now who can do something about it.

Its really dependent on how much loyalty these players feel to the club and fans to perform to the max and keep us up.

Do I think most of them will give maximum effort? Some have, whilst others havent. Amid the injury crisis, there just isnt enough quality up front and in midfield in our available players.

Then you have Forest and West Ham performing in all the areas of the pitch.
