How many other players in our squad have the footballing ability or nous to play right back, left back, centre half, anywhere across the midfield, I will tell you………zero/none/narda/zilch. We are talking about a 19 year old here not a battled harden late 20’s been in the Prem all his career and as far as I can see one of the only players who gets the situation we are in and seems to feel it when we lose( especially reaction after Palace defeat)

its weird the shit this kid gets, hes probably the best all round footballer at the club, like you said no one else can play multiple positions, you can only do that when you are a proper footballer.
he shouldnt be getting as much gametime as hes getting, him and bergvall should be used sparingly, brought on for half hour at the end of games and started in the softer games etc, not thrown into the deep end as teenagers and have to try and play football with a bunch of shit cunts who wouldn't look out of place in the championship. they are relied upon heavily because the seniors at the club are crap!
Gray is one of the few players i would actually keep.
He's in a weird spot where he's the best character in the team, constantly trying, having some brilliant moments, but at the same time isn't quite at the level we need for a regular starter in his primary position (which is completely understandable as he's bloody NINETEEN playing in the toughest league in the world).

Yeah a year in the Championship won’t do him any harm at all. In fact it will help him develop.
It's a tough league
I get this “he’s a nice kid” but we brought him for £40m as a central midfielder and I’ve never seen him have a good game there . Nice touches here and there but seriously if you’re impressed with this kid then I’m worried . That’s not to say he won’t end up a good player but I’m not seeing much at the moment , maybe the bar in the team is so low that someone just making some effort stands out .
We bought him as an 8 and has never had a run of matches in that position, put it down to bad club planning...we never did actually have a plan for him, just bought him because he had huge potential.

I accept that but what does that tell you , we play Sarr , Bissouma and the other crap infront of him . No manager has trusted him in midfield cos he’s never played well there , must have had 15 games there and no stand out match .
You could say the exact same for every other player then. Theres nothing special about Archie. He’s an average midfield player at this moment but he’s got time to improve but I don’t see any outstanding attribute that will take him to a different level.
He will have a career somewhere between james Milner and phil jones (probably without the pl titles)
