How come Frank couldn’t make a similar improvement?
Because he inherited a team that thought 22 losses in a season was normal

Nobody else took us to a 17th place finish, I think that's a key part.We were a mess. Remember Stellini and Newcastle away?
And if you are saying Mason wasn’t a mess, why didnt have to deal with the residual effects of Stellini?
How come it’s only Ange that’s still to blame 2 years later, even though he dramatically improved things from what he inherited?
I thought 7th place and a League Cup final on the horizon under Mourinho was dark times...The football was dogshit lol he was like a Temu Jose long before Temu was a thing.
Same with actual Jose and Conte, to a degree; the football was awful. Mad times. I'd go back to those days in a heartbeat.

I don't recall Amorim bragging that he decided to sack off the League at the mid-way point of last season to try and excuse his abysmal performance so I'm not sure the two examples are really like-for-like.
But yeah, I believe they were higher in the league when he left than where they finished last season, as were we at that point.
What is the point you're getting at? And do you believe it's a total coincidence that we're in the final stretch of the season balls deep in a relegation battle, immediately after the season that Ange took us to a 17th placed finish last season?
Doesn't have to no, but given what is happening, I find it difficult to not see a link between the two.You know the point I'm getting at......what happened last season does not have to influence what is happening this season. It didn't influence Utd who were just as shocking as we were last season.
What matters most is strengthening a squad in the right areas and with excellent quality. Utd signed Cunha and Mbuemo, we signed Tel, Kudus and Muani on loan. Can you see the difference that good proven players can make?
Mourinho, Conte, Nuno, Ange, Frank and now Tudor have struggled with recent squads. Apart from a few exceptions we are simply shocking at buying players, so much money wasted over the years because we keep signing crap.....Mourinho, Conte and Nuno had Kane and Son to cover the majority cracks developing in this club. Since Kane left and Son started to rapidly decline we've been left with this harsh reality of an utter incompetent group of players
And this is really the point all the mental fanbois refuse to acknowledge.
We have never allowed this festering losing mentality to just carry on, unchecked, until AngeLOSS.
Every manager before he was sacked LONG before it got as bad as it did last season.
It always meant the next man had a fighting chance of re-focussing the squad and getting them back to at least wanting to win.
That fucking fraud had the board, the players and half the fan base under a spell and he's fucked us.
Serious question to the Angebois - was a shitty final in the meh cup worth what has followed?
Would you stick to your guns and take that win AND relegation and potential worse ramifications, or would you give that cup back and rewind to 2023 and make a better appointment?
I think you can, the new manager didn't start from scratch, he started with an absolute mess, and from reports a squad that was still so enamoured with Ange that they resented having to work under Frank and his lowly Brentford staff.Ok, you can blame that on Ange for last season. But you cannot blame him for this season. A new manager came in, had a full pre season, signed some new players, started the season very well, and then everything turned to shit.
As has been pointed out, the same thing happened after the disastrous months of Stellini and Mason. Ange came in, we had a great first 10 games and then we steadily declined. Can you not see a pattern that predates Ange and is happening again after Ange? Can you not see the decline of this club way before Ange even arrived?
Mixed bunch of results. That 4-1 loss to Leicester was mad.we won 6 and lost 7 out of 16 before Mason came in (22pts from 16 games)
he won 2 and lost 3, including playing Liverpool and Man Utd (7 points from 6 games)
It was due to nose-dive under Stellini, so I don't really know what else was expected so late in the season tbh
I'm not talking about Sherwood, haha. More about the AVB/Jose/Conte era.The football was dogshit lol he was like a Temu Jose long before Temu was a thing.
Same with actual Jose and Conte, to a degree; the football was awful. Mad times. I'd go back to those days in a heartbeat.
All of those managers that you list as having struggled prior to Ange, none of them ever had us anywhere near relegation at the business end of the season
I think you can, the new manager didn't start from scratch, he started with an absolute mess, and from reports a squad that was still so enamoured with Ange that they resented having to work under Frank and his lowly Brentford staff.
Now I'll share some blame with the players here, they're so utterly dense and detached from reality that they were still fully behind Big Ange, even after he managed them to an embarrassing league finish last season, even despite having enough charisma that the players would run through walls for him, he was so inept at everything else that he could only achieve 17th place with them.
Yet they were surprised he was sacked? Idiots, the lot of them.
and from reports a squad that was still so enamoured with Ange that they resented having to work under Frank and his lowly Brentford staff.
They didn't resent Frank in the super cup final against PSG, away to Man City, away to Leeds, away to Everton, in our CL games where we finished 4th in the league stage. Didn't see much resentment there
Why is it delusional? This delusion that Postecoglou is somehow to blame for what's happened this season is the most pathetic embarrassing cope from some of the worst people on here.
You were wrong. Own it.
Mixed bunch of results. That 4-1 loss to Leicester was mad.
Losing to Arse and City isn't entirely outrageous. Although we were 2 up at HT away to City.
It was the Leicester and Wolves losses that were alarming.
Mason only won 2 games. We were 3-0 down Vs Liverpool in 15 minutes.
1 up vs Brentford then blown away.
I do recall us actually being the better side Vs United but being 0-2 down at HT.
Mason did nothing overly special. We were 5th he took over and finished 8th.
Why is it delusional?
We lost 22 league games under him. 22
We would actually do well to beat that this year and were terrible.
