What... hes an ambassador FFS. Has zero to do with the running of the club. When selling VIP you need these ex players. It's what people are coming to see. In the list of issues we have, Ledley King doesn't make the top 5000.

No issue in year 1... if we dont come straight back then we're in the shit. The club will probably sell 300m - 400m worth of players this summer so they can balance the books comfortably.

He's a club ambassador and does PR and sponsorship meet and greets. Literally harmless and does all he can for the club. Weird flex.

Must be replaced and I hope that process is underway, and that once we lose to Liverpool, whoever is given that last throw of the dice position has enough time to make an appreciable difference.

Absolutely.

I don’t think anyone is expecting Mason to be the new Naggelsman but he’s been there and done it as an interim at Spurs and done relatively well. He understands the club and the fans, and more importantly, he gives a shit about the club and the fans.

Whether we like it or not, a lot of these players were signed by Levy and Ange. Levy was the consistent variable at the club or the anchor. That anchor held us down at times but it also stopped us getting carried with the tide into situations like this.

These players act like they aren’t always playing for the club but on a day to day basis, what is the club to them? Vinai? Lange? I’m willing to bet those Romero comments have been about Lange and Paratici all along because they likely promised him other world class players to play with.

Mason, with a staff of Defoe, King, Vertonghen, even Lamela… that gives the squad a club to identify with down the stretch of this season.

Nobody, and I do mean fucking nobody, is identifying shit with Vinai and Lange.

Beyond that, distinguished former players are all we have left of what the club used to be. If we go down, our history will become more relevant than ever.

I actually attended a Legends evening back in November with Ledley King, Graham Roberts and Gary Mabbutt as the guest speakers. It wasn't a special VIP event, it was at my local theatre.

If we're ever going to get back to what we were, it needs to be in alignment with the players that helped make us what we were.

Blaming a club ambassador is ridiculous. We might as well blame Chirpy.

Because it was a load of nonsense. We were trying to compete and we didn’t bin off the league. We were simply utter shit and Ange’s kamikaze tactic had long been found out. It was just pure revisionism by Ange, he couldn’t accept he’d failed so he made up some nonsense that he binned the league off as a way to excuse his failings. Winning that trophy just made him feel even more confident that he could spin his lies about the league form. He’s a total blagger and so many fans fell his his gobshite. Just imagine we’d have lost to United in that final. I wonder what he would have said then? Still happy to say he binned the league off? It’s all bullshit

That there were 3 sides that were monumentally shit last season doesn't eradicate the fact that we were shit enough to be in a real relegation fight almost any other season.

You don't condition the players to accept and not care about the league performance one season and then just wipe the slate clean the following summer, that 18 month spell under Ange following the first 10 games has done untold damage to this group of players on so many levels, I don't think it's recoverable here for most of them.

Spot on. It’s crazy that some don’t see this. Oh so it was alright we finished 17th because we were never in danger of going down? Only because there were three shitter teams. That reality is we were in relegation form under Ange, losing most weeks. That is a fact. That three other teams had much lower points tallies is neither here nor there. You’re either in relegation form or you aren’t. And we were. It’s continued this season. It started under Ange.
