Oh dear...

So

Sunderland Away- on a massive high after Newcastle win and chasing European football

Brighton home- chasing European football

Wolves away - Yes they’ve improved, but this is a non negotiable must win, can’t see how we stay up if we don’t win this game

Villa away - chasing champions league football and have players that will likely rip our fragile defence apart, can’t see us getting anything

Leeds home- Absolutely must win, they’ve not scored in their last 4 league games, have punched above their weight IMO.

Chelsea away- I’m sure they’ll take great pity on our plight and absolutely won’t produce their best performance of the season out of nowhere.

Everton home- Could need to win to secure European football, Moyes saving West Ham and all that MEH.

Oh dear...
One thing we absolutely need is Woolwich going into that West Ham game having not already won the league, if they are already champions we are totally screwed.

These players who haven’t won a Premier League game in 13

People discounting Leeds and Forest are honestly living in some kind of fantasy land.

4 points separate the 4 teans, with West Ham's goal difference effectively meaning an extra point.

None of the 4 teans are either down or safe at present, and 3 weeks works more in our favour than it does for Forest for example.

Fair way to go.

I know predictions are a waste of time, but here are mine. I hope I'm being pessimistic. This would have us needing to win on the final day to have a chance of survival, but I predicted we'd lose anyway.

Spurs – 30 + 4 = 34 points
Wham – 29 + 7 = 36 points

I think the key is scoring first. These players fold at the first sign of adversity - go a goal down and the fans’ backing and the manager’s instructions go out the window.

Unless it’s Europe, of course, when suddenly it’s all about the shop window.

All we can hope is that the fully ingrained, weak, 'acceptance of losing' mentality that has infected the club somehow dissipates in the Championship. Even that I don't hold out much hope under the current stewardship.
If the worst happens that’s what we really need to hope happens.

We’ve had a soft underbelly for years and since Poch’s time we’ve gradually declined.

What we need is a hard reset from top to bottom and I think that only comes with ENIC selling up and with a new ambitious ownership.

I’m kind of hoping ENIC are losing their appetite for the aggro and someone like Staveley’s consortium come in irrespective of which division we’re in, looking to play the long game and make an appropriate offer.

That's about right and just a construct of confidence. It's brittle at best and so it should be.

My hope is that 3 wees away from playing in the PL and with some players experiencing that winning feeling with their international teams will help us.

That we may get a couple of players back snd that we find something.

Predicting outcomes of games is folly and heightens disappointment when we lose, which is natural.

It's less at this stage about any ism, and more about the reality that the 4 teams are under pressure and that means anything can happen..
