Player Mikey Moore

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We are so desperately short of creativity, why would we leave a creative player out on loan?
Because hopefully Madders and Kulu will be back soon-ish, and we also have Odobert, Tel and Kudus.
A lot will depend on how RDZ sets up and how he sees those options but the most important thing for Mickey is constant minutes.

He's just 18 and not ready to be thrown to the wolves just yet, he still needs to learn and grow.

I think he got an assist for the second Rangers goal.
Ref not really doing a great job. Mikey fouled but ref waves play on and DU score.
2-1. Rangers need to score again without reply to go top.

19 at the start of next season, Dowman is 16. Gray and Bergvall were playing for us at 18.

I think we need to hold fire on using Dowman as an example of anything because Nwaneri was looking like breaking through last year, and where is he right now?

He's played a couple of times and looked decent but let's not start using that as a rule of thumb for when e should expect all youngsters to start impacting first teams.
Gray and Bergvall both had at least one full season of senior football under their belts before they stated regularly for us, and that probably wouldn't have been the case if it wasn't for our horrendous injury list.

There are no guidelines for when one should expect anything from young players because they all develop differently, both physically and mentally.

Dowman is completely different.

If he stays fit he ends up a better player than Bellingham. The best young player I've seen so far.
Yeah was saying this in the youth thread a couple of weeks ago, not really going to be a fair comparison with Dowman and can't really be putting those expectations on our kids. Same with comparing our 15/16 year old CBs with Vuskovic who was starting Croatian/Polish top flight games at that age.

Yup, for every Dowman, Yamal, Rooney or Messi, there are literally thousands of players who won't break through until their early 20's.
Using the (very) few truly exceptional youngsters to suggest that everyone else should be doing the same is just daft.

Come on now. Does he really deserve to be listed with these guys?!

Maybe on Woolwich Mania...
Of course not, nowhere bloody near, which is kind of the point I was clumsily making.

In my previous post I said that last season, the same things were being said about Nwaneri and while Dowman looks potentially better, he's literally played a handful of minutes so far but someone quoted him as a reason why we should be playing Moore, because Moore is older?!

Honestly, if we stay up I'd keep him at Rangers for another season, especially if they get Champions League football. Rohl is a good manager for him to continue to develop into a Premier League player and he's fitted in very well up there.

Will be watching this at 3 o'clock again.
Why?
If goons can play a 16 yr old in the PL and other big games surely we can play a 18/19 yr old. He’s had enough games in men’s football now. Tell me how many of our forwards are that much better than him. Bring him back let rdz work with him and get him to be a much bigger player. Only we keep sending players out on loan and give them a chance. It’s about time we proved if our great academy prospects are good enough. Same goes for Devine bring him back get rid of likes of bent, Sarr, etc. can anyone really say when Sarr plays as an advanced midfielder Alfie couldn’t play that role. He reminds me of a scholes and can make a great pass.
