Probably pushed to do so by the betting industryI don't know why managers feel obliged to state which players are available for selection at their pre-match press conferences. Can they not just say ''you'll see the available squad when the team sheets are publicised on matchday''? Because stating a player is available who is usually part of the starting line;up. is pretty much giving out a member of the matchday squad before the team sheets are required to be submitted.
