Player Rodrigo Bentancur

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Sadly, I think past injuries robbed him of his best levels, and I have a hard time imagining that this latest long injury won't simply have lowered those levels even further.

But any new arrow in RDZ's quiver is a good thing, and I have to trust that he will fire them in ways that give us a chance. And I would love it if I were wrong about Bentancur, and he comes back with a spring in his step.

I never got the hatred for him and I think we’ve missed him. We’ve not won league game since he’s been out. I’d put him and Gray in the middle with Xavi in front of them. He’s also very good in both boxes.

Thanks for sharing.

Made me laugh.

There was times before his big injury where I thought he was going to turn in to a monster player but it never materialized. Nevertheless, I think a midfield three of him, Berg and Arch is the best combination we have. He’s a much better distributor of the ball than Paulinha or Galagher and does have the occasional goal in him. Bottom line, he’s an improvement

He gives the impression that he is cool and in-control. He does seem to have an eye for a pass. He does seem to work hard. But frustratingly, he doesn't seem to deliver a lot of the time.

One thing I, 100%, feel good when he on the pitch. CORNERS.

For some reason he seems to be happy to jump for the ball and attack it. I don't have the numbers, but I am pretty sure our hit percentage on corners when he is on are higher. I remember a couple of corners where he scored using his head and foot.

.....Just one of many where consistency is a huge factor. He'll shine for one game and then be a ghost the next.

Probably not enough games for him to build up a head of steam after such a long lay-off.
