Management Johan Lange - Technical Director

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Probably just nonsense ITK but would love if we could get this guy, his current Saudi salary might be beyond us but like De Zerbi who rejected us at first maybe we have to pay.

DoF and manager are more important than any player by far. De Zerbi and Freeman and I would have some confidence next season whatever league we are in. He also has championship experience.

De Zerbi and Freeman would be a big upgrade on Frank and Lange.

If we go down then getting him in is the most important thing we could do. Him rather than Lange buying and selling the players gets us out the division at the first time of asking. Just get him to name his price and conditions of employment and bring him in. No fucking about.

Exactly who we need even if we stay up but especially if we go down. Our market will be what Palaces was and he was superb at that level Olise, Eze, Wharton all bought from the championship. Actually played the game as well and we desperately need a few of those.

I think its the absolute smartest thing we could do. We are going down get him in NOW get on with cleaning up the mess. The false god of data didn't only beguile the board there's people on this forum who laud it like its this fool proof system. They bang on and on about how its the way forward. Pleat just offering his opinion was harming no one, he had been an asset in the past. We are simply dumb and it rolls out from the club into the fan base. Just look at how so many reacted when we suggested buying Lookman. I dont think half of them know what they are looking at.

Paritici never had a clear plan, most of his transfers were punts, even in his first window he managed to save it by signing Kulu and Bentancur late on in the window because an opportunity came up as opposed to having an actual plan.

The only players you could say he planned for were the wing backs Udogie, Perisic and Porro because they would fit a Conte system (although I'm pretty sure Porro was a Base link) Spence is another one but Conte himself came out and said he didn't even want him, shambles.

Go and have a look at the rest of his signings, it was all him, nothing to suggest that he had his hands tied behind his back, just a load of random transfers and punts.

Bentancur and Kulu were opportunities. Spence was a Levy signing. Levy personally pushed and got the deal done himself, despite Conte and I presume Paratici didn’t want him either. Our transfer and recruitment has been overwhelmingly influenced by Levy, not our Sporting Directors. They’ve been essentially lackeys who have lacked any autonomy in their jobs.

If you have ever seen executives and directors come into organisations that have been run by autocrat control freaks like Levy was, you’ll know exactly what I mean when you see their decision making and autonomy completely stripped away and they realise they have no freedom to make decisions themselves.

As you mentioned so many of our signings were also Base, and that was Levy’s agency not our Sporting Directors. So I guess what I’m saying is I agree with you, I also think the whole set up and structure and culture under levy is also a big reason why it all failed.

Our Sporting Directors also failed. Paraticis signings like Vicario and Udogie and I would argue Romero too have been failures.

Porro a failure. So yeah regardless of Levy’s influence, they are clearly Paratici targets.

We’ve just hired so many incompetent people on the football side, combined with Levy’s meddling, no wonder it was a mess.

Always amazed me how stupid ENIC were with the spot of DoF. That is long term the most important role as it’s the vision of the club and we hire some fraud like Lange. Even Paratici hardly game changing. Play 200k a week for Gallagher and go cheap on the man whose job in theory is to put the squad together.

Levy just didn’t know what he was doing. The proof is there multiple times over the last twenty years. Our problem is they then let the Gooner come in and make all the decisions and he is even worse than Levy. It is just like replacing Ange with Frank. Sacking him wasn’t the wrong call, it was who we replaced him with was ultimately incorrect.

We can’t trust them to make a single correct decision. It is why the club is crying out for a sale yet nobody seems to be coming to our rescue

A good company employs people so that the CEO could in theory fuck off or go on holiday and it still run well. Levy employing idiots meant the club still needed him to run the show. It is a shocking legacy for Levy to leave the back office in such a fucking mess. As for the Lewis kids I wonder if they knew how poor things where or did they just walk in blind.

You’ll notice the likes of Brentford or Brighton can lose anyone and just carry on. We can’t that points to a shockingly poor set up.

You will know when it’s no longer crap. It will be when an elite player like Kane leaves and we don’t fall apart, same with the manager or any other employee. A well run club is a club anyone can leave and the club not go to crap. We are miles of that.

Spence was a Paratici pick not a Levy pick, Levy was the one negotiating besides all that I not actually putting any blame on Paratici on this one, what came out of it was Conte publicly turning his back on him for some weird reason.

You keep making this about Levy by the way and I want to make it clear because you're trying to steer the conversation away from Paratici and excuse him. Look we know how much Levy meddled in decision making and undermined his staff at times but that doesn't get Paratici off the hook because my point is about basic squad profiling and having a set plan - that has absolutely nothing to do with Daniel Levy and his method of negotiating and moving the goalposts on deals.

I said that the Porro deal was a base link and I think we actually did the right thing recruiting Porro for Conte as he was a RWB who would have fitted into his system - that is my point.

Our Sporting Directors also failed. Paraticis signings like Vicario and Udogie and I would argue Romero too have been failures.

This is hindsight talking, Udogie and Romero were fine because he recruited them when Conte was manager - the fact that they've stagnated is on the club if anything and what's happened since then and by the way both specialised in playing in a back 3/5 system.

lol it actually sounds like I'm contradicting myself now...I think Paratici got a few right including these two players TBH but a lot of the players that he bought in were duds.

I can't actually believe he hasn't been sacked already.
It would be a sign of intent for the future by stringing this cunt up with the other one.

Probably cutting costs that way. Actually him probably doing everything, spreading himself too thin, was also doing it on the cheap.

It's why those who suspect ENIC to suddenly do somethings different are very funny people.

Do you remember the full chest..."but but its Vivian and General Blucher now!" brigade. That was weird such misplaced faith going into that window. I couldn't get my head round it....

It was a no brainer , pl experience, in decent form and cheap would have been less than Gallagher. Just imagine having him on the left. Defences would be scared shitless but we have Richi and tel.
I literally got told shut up about Lookman being better than what we had on the left because something something... four years ago Fulham. Extraordinary level of myopia. I think a few us said this can be fixed by adding Lookman, paying whatever Borough want for Hackney at the time it would have stopped us hemorrahging points I truly believed it.

When we did nothing but add the same player in Gallagher I went game by game and tried to plot our way to stay in the EPL. I couldn't Im not RDZ obviously and hope that's why he is a professional coach, but every scenario I workshopped every formation ...with the personell available I took TWO draws from the remaining games TWO. That was the best I could do. We were relegated every singel time. So far....we've taken one of those two draws with 6 to play. 😔
