Competition World Cup 2026

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It seems FIFA has been shocked to learn that most American cities do not have rail service or any mass transit at scale, and did not make funds available to cities for transport costs related to fans visiting for the WC. A rather silly omission.

However as I heard one American journo say, for the price of attending a match with a good seat he could fly to England and see a few.£400-500 a seat is average for the group stage is what I've heard

I can see their twisted , perverted and corrupt logic , from their pov ; but surely that would be curtains for the whole circus in every reasonable person’s eyes .
As I've always said, they're going to ruin it completely...the rot has already set in it's going to get a lot worse...not too our transatlantic fans on here but America seems to ruin anything they touch...

“I confirm I have suggested to Trump and [Fifa president Gianni] Infantino that Italy replace Iran at the World Cup. I’m an Italian native and it would be a dream to see the Azzurri at a US-hosted tournament. With four titles, they have the pedigree to justify inclusion,” the US special envoy Paolo Zampolli told the FT.

Apparently its just about $22k for a category 1 seat for the final.

I always feel the need to point out how much of this, the bloated 48 team format, the cynical pricing strategy, the suboptimal city and scheduling selections, the farcical advertising break for "water", is FIFA's responsibility and fault.

If FIFA were doing its job as a steward of the game and handed America a properly sized tournament with the laws of its game held firm and left the advertising suits in charge of bringing the party, we would bring the party, we're good at that.

FIFA probably should also be stripping the tournament (or at least threatening to) because of the way Trump is ruining it, but that's downstream of other bad decisions that already put this on vulnerable ground.

USA 94 was one of the best tournaments ever staged and it's unbelievable how badly they're fucking up the sequel.

The promise of ticket prices collapsing may benefit me personally though
