Much as a complete and calculated conspiracy theory is a bit more than far fetched, the amount of inexplicable decisions, one being the Sunderland non-second yellow (red) card and for example not sending-off yesterday or even showing the tackle is beyond questionable.

Impossible to keep on ignoring. Impossible.
I think the introduction of VAR has made the possibility of corruption more likely. Overseas betting markets cannot be ignored and why does football and in particular the EPL think it/they are immune? It’s happened in almost every sport. It’s happened in football and it is very likely happening in the EPL.

He held the ball up better than anyone else on the pitch and brought the midfield more into the game. Unfortunately he doesn’t score enough goals but neither do any of the others. And as for Muani, fuck me he is lazy.
I agree in part with that, he was quite good at holding the ball up, BUT he's largely ineffective at doing anything else on the ball to progress the play in any meaningful way most of the time.

Yes mate and I don’t disagree. I guess I am talking about right now and the situation we are in. In an ideal world I’d get rid. Along with most of the others.

But right now I think he is the best option we have for that role. Such a shame Madders isn’t available. Him and Solanke together just might have gotten the goals to get us out of this.

Xavi’s miss yesterday was a very similar chance to the one missed at home to Brighton - he is infuriating, a terrible finisher and doesn’t offer anywhere near enough for us - he is a large reason why we will go down - Madders and Kulu injured, we went for him to fill the gap and he has still struggles to make the team at times.

We would be lucky to get £40m for him in the summer

No mate, that's a double negative.

Simons is absolutely not the reason we get relegated, should it happen. Nowhere near.

Go down any of the various reasons and Simons missing 3 or 4 chances or not 6 good enough (in your words) is not one of them.

The CEO and Lange.
Frank (utterly unsuited to this club and what we needed)
Injuries.
The captain and the sprinter (not defender)
Poor strikers.
Not one player having even a good season.
Unbelievable decisions by VAR/Officials.
Trump and Putin.
Did I mention injuries and inexplicable decisions!!

But blaming Simons in isolation is just bias rearing its ugly head.

The mood in here is borderline unhinged just because we’ve finally picked up a win in 2026. You’d think we’d just been battered, not taken three points. Yeah, the overall performance wasn’t great, but the pressing was miles better and, at this stage, no one sensible cares about pretty football. It’s points or nothing, and we got the only thing that matters.

The panic because West Ham also won is odd. Since when were we pinning survival on them slipping up one yesterdays game against Everton? They’re solid at home, sure, but away to decent sides they’re nothing special. Look at their run in. Newcastle away with a proper atmosphere, Brentford away who barely lose there, Woolwich at home which speaks for itself, then Leeds where you’ve no idea what you’re getting. The idea they’re suddenly taking maximum points or it’s foregone conclusion is wrong.

And if we’re going to play that game, you can just as easily flip it our way. Villa in between semi-final legs, Chelsea who are hardly the model of consistency. It’s not exactly outrageous to think we nick a couple of results where people have already written us off in these games. If you’re backing West Ham to beat teams like Leeds and Everton, then why are we automatically getting nothing from comparable fixtures?

What actually matters is the shift in us. There’s finally a bit of fight, a bit of structure, something that looks like a team capable of grinding out results. This isn’t about blind optimism, it’s basic maths and a bit of realism. We don’t need miracles, just a swing of one result in our favour over the run-in. That’s hardly some wild, delusional or overly positive take. Keep the faith, we’re in this still.

We have to beat Villa next week. We've no chance if we go into that final day behind West ham. Leeds will rollover 100% if safe. West ham will beat them 3 or 4 nil on the final day. We can't be relying on anyone.

We simply have to beat villa and Leeds now or we are gone. Because Chelsea will beat us. They always do and it'll be their cup final. They'll be desperate to relegate us. We need to win our next 2 now. Anything else and we'll probably be behind West ham going into the final day.

Not sure if serious...Johnson???

Fekin Bergvall lmao as if you didn’t watch thr Sunderland, the guy made 1 forward pass the entire match for God's sake, he isn't anywhere near an attacking midfielder.

I think you need to look beyond the surface of goals and assists mate unless you actually think Palhinha can play as a 10 which is hilarious sorry.
What’s Xavi done?

What did he do yesterday other than get injured.

He is terrible - we put him on the market in the summer and we will struggle to shift him for more than £40m

In isolation no

As part of the overall picture - yes

£60m and he’s not worth half that in reality - goal contributions dwarfed by Brennan Johnson - a player people were desperate to ditch

Yeah we all know our players are playing below par and inconsistent including Xavi but you saying he is no loss is nonsense because his competition is even worse and not up to par.

In this context he is a great loss because he's the only one capable of creating chances and some sort of magic for a team who fail to create chances and score goals, how do you not see this?

He got MOTM last week against Brighton, didn't hear a peep from you, why is that?

Think regarding West Ham it was because they scored the late winner when for a few mins we were above them, maybe if they were ahead and winning their game before we got ahead in ours ,we might have taken a little bit more because we came back so didn't lose ground .That winner for West Ham was definitely a right kick in the teeth and is deflating for us .

We need West Ham picking up no more than 5 points - we then need 7

West Ham have got draw specialists Brentford next. I think they draw, we lose/draw with Villa. That sets the following weekend up as absolutely huge - we’re at home to Leeds and West Ham play Woolwich - a chance to leapfrog them on GD.

We lose to Chelsea, they lose up at Newcastle and it’s a last day shoot out

I think there is a twist to come. I have said this for a while.

West Ham's next 3 games all offer difficulty for various reasons in my opinion, without saying categorically they won't pick up any points.

To beat a Moyes team late on is unusual but there you go - painful.

Brentford shouldn't be easy. That lot obviously need to beat them. It will be Howe's last game and I suspect everyone in the stadium will know that's the case, and....?

Being a bit flat is natural but we aren't where we are because of winning games of football.

West Ham's next 2 games are Brentford (A) and Woolwich (H).

Our next 2 games Villa (A) and Leeds (H).

This is our opportunity.
Agree...
I can honestly see us matching their Everton / Leeds results, as we play them both at home as well...
If Leeds and Everton have nothing to play for by the final day, we'll both beat both of them, effectively cancelling out the result.

It'll come down to what they do or don't do against Brentford imho... They absolutely need to drop points...

Their Newcastle & Woolwich games are basically gonna be our Villa & Chelsea... Games where we're not expected to get anything out of, but might!

I just don’t see where the goals are in this team.
Further injuries have only derailed that.
Genuinely can’t wait to see a new attack next season, regardless of what competition that’s in.

Exactly - same amount of goals as Xavi yet people are upset he’s missing.

Who knows how many goals and assists Tel, Moore, Odobert would have had with the mins Xavi has had
All the attacking players have been shit this season, Tel has 3 goals and 0 assists in 27 appearances. Odobert 0 goals and 2 assists in 24 appearances. Simons has 2 goals and 5 assists in 28 appearances.

I'm only counting the Premier League stats.

We need 4 wins to be safe. Even if West Ham lose to Woolwich we still have to make up the 2 points and then stay ahead of them.
