Management Roberto De Zerbi

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Got to give him a fighting chance though by actually being semi decent in the transfer window. But let's cross that bridge when we come to it. I'm still amazed he has agreed to Robertson. But then again he played Milner despite his age

Surely the Robertson signing is more about driving player standards and general leadership rather than on-field 1st choice competition.

If we signed Palhinha on a permanent, I think he'd be excellent captain material. Could play first choice CDM for 2, maybe 3 more years. Would be a great personality to have there while we rebuild under RDZ.
Palhinha, Bentancur and Gallagher would all be a positive influence for the young midfielders under De Zerbi. We could give each of the young guys great opportunities by playing one of them alongside 2 of the experienced players on a kind of rotational basis. Keeps everyone fresh as well.

I don't necessarily disagree but two wins and suddenly our midfield is full of leadership and positive influence?

Lange and Vinai taking notes as we speak :cautious:

Nah we need better than nearly all three mate. Seriously Bentancur had a good game but Id happily upgrade him and that game was Gallagher first good one. We have to be very clear eyed. We were 17th last year and desperate to make that again this isn't a fluke. Bad coaching and poor players got us here, we have rectified one let push on and do the other.

Just see RDZ on sky sports , and he was asked did Aston Villa play with a understrength team against us and if they'd played with last nights line up would they have beaten us ?

He answered "We played without Romero , Simons , Maddison , Kudus , Kulusevski and Vicario" . That seemed to shut them up

100% if this happened to us, there would be pages added to the 'everyone is against us, it's a conspiracy to get us relegated' thread.
If what happened to us?
Weird how quiet that thread was when we got pretty much every 50/50 decision in our favour at Villa Park.
What 50/50's?
It was a clean game because Villa were so shit.
Even the bentest ref in the world would struggle to give a free kick for Spurs winning a loose ball.

Because it's the right answer.
I'd probably have gone one step further and asked them where Villa would be if they had to play that 11 every week all season.

All we can do now is beat whoever is in front of us.
