''It means they have earned 70.3% of their points this season in away games. That is the highest proportion by any team in any season in Premier League history. The Tottenham team of 2025-26 are more reliant on away points than any other side the competition has ever seen.''

We've won a record.

"Most away points in a season, your never sing that!!!" :rdzarms:

Look the scenarios are getting simple.

If we win or draw today, Spam likely need to win both their remaining games to have any hope of survival.

Even if we were to draw, the Spam will have to be 3 points better than us over the final 2 in order to survive because they can't stay up on goals. The majority of scenarios where the Spammers stay up would still require them to win both their remaining games.

If we were to lose the pressure mounts and it's nearer to the toss of a coin again, but right now we're in the driving seat. A draw still increases our lead and a win will push them to the brink.

58% here.

And the a lot may change their mind since we stopped being shit, but still have had decisions go against us.

Just doesnt feel very us to go from seemingly doomed to pretty much safe in 2 weekends. Got a horrid feeling they'll be a twist and more drama to come.

The optimism is coming from the manager motivating the players/fans, playing a good system and finally not playing players out of position like putting Gallagher in the 10 and using Tel wide as he is our only player close to a winger. Plus Leeds being safe and having a few injuries.

You are right though the mental element of Spursy and Dr Tottenham is always around. Thankfully De Zerbi appears not to have been infected by ENIC yet. Just have to hope it’s enough.

People keep saying West Ham have easy games because teams are on the beach, but don’t apply the same logic to us. If that argument holds, then tonight should also be easier for us if Leeds are already checked out. Yet our game is framed as tough while theirs is treated like a stroll.

And if Brighton and Brentford win on Sunday, then by the time we play Chelsea and Everton, they’re basically on the beach as well because they wouldn’t realistically get top 8. That changes the picture people are trying to paint.

At this stage of the season though, with pressure affecting players differently, there’s no such thing as an easy game for anyone.

Newcastle away is always difficult regardless of form. It’s their last home game, the crowd will be up for it, and St James’ Park doesn’t suddenly become easy because the season is over.

Chelsea away is similar. Our record there isn’t great, but they’re in poor form and our away form is strong. It’s far from a write-off.

Everton at home is another one people overcomplicate. We’re at home, we’ve got their number, and the crowd will be behind us.

Pressure-wise, as it stands, it’s not fully on us. It’s on the team that actually needs points to get out of trouble, and that’s West Ham. If Spurs win tonight, that pressure only increases. Four points with two games left is a massive gap at this stage.

I agree, it seems simple.

What i would say is that many many people are over stating the degree of certainty we have of staying up even IF we do beat Leeds tonight.

What ive been saying is now the picture is very clear for West ham I think that they will get the 6 points in their last 2 games.

Many on here think that if we win tonight then it is pretty much job done. I believe we will still need a win or 2 draws which is still a tall order considering our opponents aswel as last day chaos where teams can buckle or shit the bed under the pressure.

Why would you think that a team that has less points than us having played a game more (and is therefore a terrible team) will go away and beat Newcastle - with their big guns fit again - and this Leeds team that are apparently in such good form?

I'm not convinced teams will be on the beach, each club earns about £2.7m per league position going upward, and loses the same going downward, so there could be £5.4m to play for, for not slipping down a position and gaining a position upwards.

It's not a case of glory in that situation but I suspect it's money that the club's will be expecting the manager, coaches, and players to try their utmost to earn.

Getting smashed 5-1 by a relegated Newcastle because the players couldnt be arsed to secure 2nd
Must be one of the biggest on the beach examples

I just think they will grind it out. Wining at st James is not that much of a big deal imo. For all their poor football they do have alot of grit and determination and the last couple of months they have done reasonably well for West ham. I think nuno thrives in these situations and will get them going again.

I suppose the way I view it is that I dont think we will clinch pl survival through west ham losing any more points. Instead we will have to match their final points tally which will include another 6 points imo

I am surprised that noone in this thread came up with the possibility that west ham still could stay up on goal difference.

My personal horror scenario is west ham staying up by goal difference which is still possible if we lose heavily vs Chelsea

Spurs vs leeds 1-0
Chelsea vs Spurs 6-0
Spurs vs Everton 0-3

Newcastle vs west ham 0-2
West ham vs leeds 0-0

In that scenario both teams have gd-17 but Spurs stay up because they scored more goals.
But anything worse than that and we go down.

So even if we beat leeds, I will still be nervous until west ham lose vs newcastle.
If they get a point at newcastle it's still not over.

No

If we draw Wham need to win one if we lose two

We need to win this. Chelsea away is a bogey fixture for us

I remember we were 3 -0 up against 10 man Manchester City, Joey Barton was sent off, they came out the second half and scored 4 goals. We hadn't gone to the beach at half time, we just played shit, and they played with the freedom of having nothing to lose. Just like sometimes relegated teams can play well because the pressure has all gone.

Anyway I've given my opinion and thank you for replying with yours.

The bottom line is that as of this moment we have 3 games remaining and they have 2, and they have to be 2 points better than us over that span. They have won consecutive games only once this year and will very likely need all six points.

Even if you did not know we were looking more vital under a new manager, you would never want to bet on the lower team in that scenario.
