Agreed.I dont get this narrative of hes only good enough if we go down. Hes done nothing wrong since Madrid and even then that was only partially his fault. The Madrid pitch is infamous for messing keepers up.
Since then not a single goal we have let in ive fought he could do any better with.
Until proven otherwise he deserves a fair crack at keeping that no1 jersey

Not weird at all. The improvement in the defence since Vicario was removed from the team has been remarkable.
That’s not even talking about Kinksy’s superior distribution and the fact he’s capable of pulling off saves every bit as good as the clown. Nor about how many goals we concede. It’s the fact our defence and team is so much calmer. It’s night and day. With the added benefit Kinksy doesn’t berate teammates for his mistakes.
We had two years of some people gaslighting us that vicario was actually a quality keeper. It’s been obvious for so so long that Vicario was a huge contributor to the team being so so shit. Yet he was never dropped.
The bigger question though, is why has it taken a forced injury for the club to remove him from the team. It makes you wonder what the fuck is going on at the club if yet again fans can see a massive issue with Vicario being in the team yet the club persists with him regardless. It’s been obvious since Ange’s first season that Vicario wasn’t just a poor keeper, but he was actively helping the team lose games. But a few good saves made some fans think he was actually decent.
Sometimes you have to put your ego aside and admit you was wrong. For you this is one of those times. We've all been there mate no shame in it but Kinsky is a good keeper.Kinsky played well . Am it's a very impressive recovery .
Buy, my you are getting carried away with the saves. I am not even sure he touches the first one - could have been post first - and it's a goal the keeper would be blamed for it is goes in The 2nd one was near post - again if it goes in and it's Vic in goal - he would have been blamed
That said - he did save it - and it was hit with a lot of power. And he his distribution was good
He has overtaken Vicario in every metric bar shouting at the defence.I was generally on about you saying where are the Vicario fans now as if there's exclusively fans of Vic, that's all.
Anyway it seems all it took was for Kinsky to get a run but let's be real he was hardly convincing before. Vic has been shit this season but lets not act as if Kinsky was some sort of world beater sitting on the bench waiting for his chance because he wasn't, he wasn't a better keeper than Vic and only a Vic injury has forced this change - it seems now Kinsky has got some confidence which is what he needed.

He saved that first one.Would be very happy to do that.
And clearly Kinsky is much better than I thought he was. So I was wrong and pleased to be
And yes there is always confirmation bias.
But- hype is hype. Did he actually touch the ball or did it hit the post. And then hit his hand?

Hardly convincing before? That isn't fair at all. He had no chances bar the odd appearance and was hardly worse than what Vicario has displayed for us consistently for years, yet Vic retained full faith no matter what.
It's been beyond obvious that Vicario is woefully out of his depth and was a directcause of many of our issues throughout the team. From his appalling kicking, to his nervousness and erractic nature. Gary Neville called out early in his first season and said, I don't like him, he's too nervous. That's coming from a defender who knows a thing or two about how keepers affect a defence, both positively and negatively. Vic hasn't changed since then. Let's not forget how he gets bullied at set pieces, his constant mistakes, and his awful bullying personality.
I think just saying Kinksy has got some confidence is doing him a disservice. He's a better goalkeeper in pretty much every department, it's obvious. It's not just confidence.
Why the fuck have the club persisted with Vic for so long? I just don't understand it. Not only did they decide not to get rid of him in multiple windows, they refused to give Kinksy a chance, when personally I don't see how it could have possibly got any worse than Vic. If it's broken, why not try to fix it by trying something else?
I am struggling to think of a worse first choice number 1 than Vicario, that we've had in the PL era. I'd probably have Gomes over him, though he'd go from the sublime to the ridiculous at least he wasn't a prick. Robinson and Freidel etc were miles better, even just because they at least gave some authority and presence to the defence.
If we had Kinksy all season, we wouldn't be 17th, that's how bad Vicario is.
Are you talking about the Long staff shot that hit the bar? That was a World class save. Long staff has hit it hard and high. In that split second, Kinsky has reacted to push it onto the bar, fantastic save.Would be very happy to do that.

Charlie F is trying to downplay the first half save from the header. Are you talking about the Long staff shot that hit the bar? That was a World class save. Long staff has hit it hard and high. In that split second, Kinsky has reacted to push it onto the bar, fantastic save.
Couple that with the header in the first half, where he's had to reach behind himself to stop it crossing the line, another World class save, and you have a performance that should have earned him a MOTM performance. Without a doubt, Kinsky was the reason we came away with a point rather than none.
He even went the right way for the penalty, but there's not a keeper on Earth was saving that.
Absolute top class performance.
It's totally fair, the last game he played was Atletico and we know what happened there, the game before that was Newcastle and he made a mistake for their winner as he was slow to collect a cross.
He played in a couple of matches last season and was letting in easy goals, Villa in the FA cup, Trossard's goal in the NLD, Im sure there was more.
You're arguing in hindsight.
It's what it is, sometimes it takes moments like Vic's injury for Kinsky to get a break and we just need to be thankful he's taken it with noth hands (excuse pun)
First save is G Banks 70 stuffThat first save was incredible FFS!
To get down to that ball and stop it the way he does was superb, you must have some major issues to not have been able to see that.
The second was just fantastic reactions and a strong wrist (or thumb really) - it was belted at him from close range and goes through most keepers in that situation.
It was another good performance from Kinsky, allaying some of the concerns about his shot stopping and it's a bit weird that you're still talking about Vic.
