Ndombele still had 10 goals from nearly 100 games for us. He is peak Kane compared to the economic disaster of RKM, and even at his lowest ebb was still much better than you are trying to suggest
I never said RKM was any good , turns out he is very poor . I doubt anyone on here has said he was a guaranteed success because of his PSG price tag . Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story though

By the way I thought NDombeke was a real talent , sadly he had a shit attitude

You were making out that Ndombele was "a very low bar", which is disingenuous compared to players currently playing in our shirt, including RKM.

RKM being evidence of how absolutely shite some of the £80m+ players can be. Including Isak

N’Dombele was a talent and an abject failure at Spurs and everywhere he has been since AFAIK . I think Isak will prove to be better than an abject failure given time , RKM is just crap imho

I mean, there was a time when West Ham fans probably held that delusion

Find it weird how Liverpool are being portrayed as having some sort of nightmare season. Sky Sports has an article up saying "inside liverpools season of pain." they finished in the cl. before klopp that would have been a success. Their fans were spoilt winning the league in slots first season and now seem to expect it every season. if theyd have finished in the cl last season their fans would have seen it as a good season but because they won the league it now isnt good enough. Think theyre in for a shock if they think they'll be winning the league on a regular basis which even klopp didnt do only winning it once. before klopp they were finishing top 7-8 regularly.

-24 points on the season before -

Relatively speaking in your context it wasn't so bad, but they spent an insane amount of money in the summer after winning the EPL and they didn't only finish 24 points worse off; they were terrible

Arne Slot sacked.

Iraola favourite to take over.

He's going to be fantastic there.

I wanted him at Spurs for a couple of years now, and if he goes there and does amazing I will be fucking gutted.

Legendary fumble for Liverpool to wait too long to sack Slot that Alonso becomes unavailable.

I don't think Iraola will be good for them. His Bournemouth squads always started strong but then fell off when his style caused them to tire out and get hurt as the season went on.

Really harsh decision. The psychological impact of Jota dying was huge, losing Trent and the fallout over that damaging too, and then poor spending in the transfer market. He did fairly well to get them Champions League football regardless of all of that and absolutely deserved more time.

I'm sceptical of how Iraola will cope with all the European fixtures.

Agree ; League Champions in yr 1 , Fifth in yr 2 ; not too shabby .

Still if they want to take a punt on their next manager and it doesn’t work out ; I won’t be complaining TBF .

Well they really missed the boat with alonso, bad mistake there.
Not sure iraola is the answer for them personally. They will really need to beef up that squad and with quality to rotate between Europe and pl otherwise they will drop off a cliff.

So so glad we got RDZ

Agreed. I'd find it gobsmacking if they had already considered Alonso but weren't interested. I wonder if he's getting some buyers remorse at Chelsea already.

Still, I won't complain. Their drop off this year was quite something, Salah is gone, and who knows how high we might be able to climb if we sign the right players, things with De Zerbi 'click', and only have domestic football to worry about.
