Is that the same sort of tackle Xavi got sent off for, against the scousers, or do I need to got to Specsavers?

It was worse. Xavi was clumsy. This was intentional. Is that the same sort of tackle Xavi got sent off for, against the scousers, or do I need to got to Specsavers?

It's not just the mistakes though, when a manager or club calls out the piss poor standard of refereeing, suddenly the "game into disrepute" charges come flying at them faster than Donald Trump orders McDonalds.Think what Maddison called out is pretty evident. The refs are bottling most of the big decisions in the knowledge VAR can pick up any absolutely glaring fuck-ups. And because of what's at stake even VAR are being cautious. They don't want to be the ref that lost Woolwich the title and get thousands of death threats or whatever.
It was the same in the City-Chelsea cup final. Chelsea probably should've had at least 2 pens but because they weren't absolute stonewall and there was just enough doubt, the ref and VAR were happy to take the easy way out. I reckon subconsciously the refs didn't want to ruin Pep's big day and final sendoff - just can't see why they'd bottle so many decisions otherwise.
When it's a team like Spurs involved and there's no major pushback against the refs, plus a character they clearly have a bias against in Romero, they're less influenced by external pressure and far more inclined to give reds against us, not give us key decisions, etc. It was Romero making those same challenges Khusanov or Havertz made, he's almost certainly giving away a pen or getting sent off.
Well last season (or maybe the one before) they did get some absolutely hilariously soft red cards and questionable decisions against them. The rice second yellow for throwing the ball like 2 feet was amazing, and that Newcastle goal that should've been disallowed for about 4 different reasons. It's not just the mistakes though, when a manager or club calls out the piss poor standard of refereeing, suddenly the "game into disrepute" charges come flying at them faster than Donald Trump orders McDonalds.
On another note, also the reaction from Gooners have been so predictable, they get away with shit constantly, but the once in a blue moon they get punished or called out for their bullshit, suddenly it's "oh woe is us" and "look how hard done by we are",
That's the thing though, like the Dippers they've bitched and moaned for so long about it that no-one has any sympathy for them when they do get a rough deal.Well last season (or maybe the one before) they did get some absolutely hilariously soft red cards and questionable decisions against them. I wonder if them complaining about that non-stop and making a big deal out of it is what's led to where we are today? Or maybe it's because they're no longer the underdog that the refs are actually kowtowing to them? Feel like there's been a massive swing in their favour this year in particular - don't think they necessarily got the rub before.
Yeah the technical area thing is a total joke. Just really weak refereeing - if they started carding him regularly he'd have to calm it down or stop but instead they've opted to basically ignore it because he does it so much and they seemingly don't want the hassle? Really pathetic, especially given how they hold other managers to it.That's the thing though, like the Dippers they've bitched and moaned for so long about it that no-one has any sympathy for them when they do get a rough deal.
FFS look how much Arteta is seen outside his technical area yet NEVER gets punished for it.
To be honest I had that down as a 4/5 nil win for them and the title more or less finished.
If City win tonight then they’ve got to go and win a quite tricky game at Palace - stranger things have happened

How has some manager not said if Arteta is out of box and a ball is heading that way to follow through on him.Yeah the technical area thing is a total joke. And if enough fuss is made (which it won't, because it's them), the refs will come out and issue an apology, which will be too late to effect the result.Similar, but more nasty. He launched into that with far greater force than Xavi. Xavi was unlucky I think, he isn't a dirty player. Havertz looks like he wanted to hurt the Burnley player.
In essence they are both contacts to opponents calf, but mind blowing how no red for scum
